I mean the pre-glazer model Liverpool will be more like Utd in 2000 than chelsea in 2006 They will spend the £30 millions if neccesary, but it will be done selectively on players for the first team and will be done on the base of a sound financial model, they will not run the club at a loss, maybe for a couple of years untill the new staduim is built they will invest heavily, after that the club will be expected to self fund as well as paying a tidy sum to the owners

You only have to look at todays papers and last nights TV news to see the impact football has in this country. The publicity they have gained in the last 24 hours will shock even them, the countries biggest selling paper (the one we all hate) had it as a front page in the northern edition Liverpool are a huge global name, it an be treated as a trophy investment for prestige etc and publicity and they will also invest heavily using the Man Utd business model, we are the only club with the potential to fit that model.

Just been browsing the forums of a few other clubs to read some reaction to the news. Funniest of all are the Utd fans, how the f'ckin ell can a club that spend £30 million on Ferdinand £28 million on Veron £25 million on Rooney £19 million on Van Nistelroy £19 million on CARRICK talk about buying leagues, beggars beleif, honestlly it does. They have no f'ckin right to moan about Chelsea or anyone else, they used to cherry pick other teams best players (smith and rooney) just like chelsea do now
