  1. I really enjoyed Crouch's first goal. The whole thing was just hilarious. Nobody could have written that his first goal would come in such a fashion. Priceless.

  3. We seem to play the ball on the floor more when Crouch is on the pitch Seriously though, we were out numbered in midfield, hence the longer balls over them from defence. Whenever we tried to pass it midfield it would look good for 3/4 passes, but someone would soon get closed down too quickly. I don't want anyone sacked or anything, but watching Kewell and Garcia last night was tough, very tough. They were needed last night more than ever to provide the link between strikers and midfield/defence. Oh well.... Still think the team is knackered. We could do with some very heavy snow in England for the next 3 weeks so they can get a rest.
  4. That would make sense, since i've only heard it in more recent times. What are the words?
  5. There's another song that is sung just as well and just as loud at the moment that i've only heard recently. Can someone enlighten me too. It's not FOAR or YNWA.... It sounds a bit like 'Coombyah' actually. It was sung very loudly on Sat, at about 30 mins into the game I think.

  7. So not impossible then? Of course it 'could' happen. To suggest otherwise is nonsense. However, the likelihood of it happening, now that's a different story.

  9. Come on Redmen I think we will see one of the performances of the season tonight. We'll score 3 goals at least. I can't wait for the game. COME ON THE REDS

  12. I heard it was Teddy Sheringham's phone. Still mates with Klinsmann following Spurs days? Either way, loved it when I first heard the story. Top man is our Carra
  13. Is this the thing with Will Young ?
  14. I was thinking about our relationship with Arsenal the other day actually. We have more in common with them these days as both do not like Chelsea or Manure. Bit of an us against them fourball matchplay going on at the moment. Where I grew up almost all were Arsenal fans, certainly amongst my friends anyway. I watch Arsenal for two full seasons back then with friends (post '89) and found their fans to be alright also. Didn't switch though. Oh no. Enjoyed watching Dean Saunders score a penalty at the North Bank end for Derby one year - think LFC won the title that year also. I felt very smug. Also watched LFC get stuffed 4-0 though. Train ride home surrounded by Gooners wasn't fun, safe, but not fun. Those were the days.........

  16. I hear you, but not so sure those clubs will be Liverpool, Manure, a*** or Chelsea. After all, only Newcastle really went for him last time, didn't they.
  17. Thank god we never tried to sign Maradonna. Good for nothing short a***!
  18. You might be right. I just have a gut feeling that this is how it will be. I don't think we'll take him now. I don't think he'll go to Manure (though wouldn't bet on it). Chelsea also won't want him (can't think why they would). Arsenal probably couldn't afford him, but even if they sold Henry to pay for the deal, he's too in love with being 'home'. I don't think he'd want to live in London. Maybe Spurs or someone might try. I think he's stuck at Newcastle now. Just a personal feeling like...
  19. Exactly. I don't expect Owen to ever play for a big club ever again. (serious trophy winning side that is) England is all he's got and will have now. After Sven has gone I doubt he'll be so secure there either.

  22. I think it's closer to the real design than people realise.
  23. Having watched Penant on a number of occasions now I think HE's the answer. He'd be ready to go straight away, no adapting. The boy is class.
  24. About time we started being a bit 'clever' too IMO. Stop moaning, support each other on the pitch and get the result. Not at any cost, obviously, but you know what I mean. It was always the same on the international scene with England players/managers moaning about Italy or whoever. Things are different now because people like Beckham, Ferdinand, Neville, Cole etc have adapted and 'give it back'. When Manure were pushing for the European Cup before the 1999 victory it was the same for them too. They spend a few years being 'hard done by' then adapted and played the same way. There's a fine line between a winning mentality and blatant cheating, we need to know what that line is and sit ourselves firmly on it.
