I'm not so sure. I don't think they expected Ekitike to be this good straight away, arguably better than Isak might turn out to be as well.
Made sense he would be the back up initially, still getting plenty of game time, but he's settled so quickly and has made a case for being the first name on the teamsheet.
There's also a though that with Wirtz we will play two up top once Salah leaves, but that's also a long term idea.
Had Isak been fit right now it would have been fascinating to see what they would have done. Maybe Hugo would have been tried on the left. Maybe Salah would continue to be dropped. Isak injury has made these decisions easier for sure.
