I'm not having today on Slot. No subs of use on the bench, and we were knackered for last 20 mins. Ali makes a mistake and their tales are up and they bring on high quality subs. Meanwhile Salah and Gakpo just didn't look a threat bar the odd cross from Salah. Some of the abuse/disrespect aimed at Slot on here is really poor to be honest. I get the high emotions after a loss, but c'mon lads.

I'm not so sure. I don't think they expected Ekitike to be this good straight away, arguably better than Isak might turn out to be as well. Made sense he would be the back up initially, still getting plenty of game time, but he's settled so quickly and has made a case for being the first name on the teamsheet. There's also a though that with Wirtz we will play two up top once Salah leaves, but that's also a long term idea. Had Isak been fit right now it would have been fascinating to see what they would have done. Maybe Hugo would have been tried on the left. Maybe Salah would continue to be dropped. Isak injury has made these decisions easier for sure.

Indeed, but think Slot wanted to keep him. We were not forced to sell. If Jones is starting 25+ games in the league for Liverpool something has gone wrong. He's a squad player for us. If he wants to start regularly (he should want to) he may have to move. Elliot was the same situation.

Agreed, but like others say what he describes as wanting and doing seem very different to what we are seeing. It's odd. He seems not to see what we see, or is happy with what he sees as it's intended. The latter might be how he sees it, since more recently he said we just need to be better in both boxes, whereas we all see an empty midfield and slow build up play.

He seems to have some funny/different views on football compared to what we see and believe in.

I think people are forgetting how much of a s*** state the club were in when Torres left. Alonso, Mascherano and Gerrard all left or nearly left for the same reasons. Torres wasn't the same after his knee trouble either.
