I have two kids and the sheer elation of Istanbul was something that I have never come close to feeling about any other event in my life. Having kids was totally different - I went to the hospital with my wife who was 9 months pregnant. I kind of knew what was going to happen. As compared to the whole Istanbul experience, flying into a totally unknown country, wacky races in the taxis, the trek overland to the ground, meeting up with familiar faces a long way from home, a terrible first half, an unbelievable second half, Jerzy's double save, his "Brucie wobble" and then save from Shevcenko's pen, seeing us, Liverpool FC lift the biggest trophy of all, the coaches back to the City and then sitting drinking and eating till dawn, coming home the next day and seing the homecoming parade on the telly and reading all the papers. No comparison.
