    Klopp live on Sky at the moment. Would like three more players but it is not just about getting in players, but about getting in players who improve us. Difficult time of the season to do it.

    Not too sure I agree. He took on a team that had just reached the WC semi and there was a good crop of players to work with. Does not however diminish his achievements at Watford and Villa. May he RIP.

    He is in a bad run of form. To his credit he is the type of player always looking for the ball and wanting to get involved, so his bad form is then even more apparent to all watching. He will improve. Hopefully Hendo is back for the Utd game.

    Yes but we can still manage our playing squad over these 10 days. We can play a mostly reserve side in the FA Cup and have a good side out vs Southampton, with care taken with regards to those returning from injury.

    Coutinho, Hendo and Matip will probably all be available for the Utd game. Never an easy game, but we've got nothing to fear. Ten days to focus for it. Two cup games in which we can manage our squad better in the mean time.

    So........we went into the festive period which included Everton away and City home ........6pts behind Chelsea. We exit it 5pts behind Chelsea. As frustrating as Monday's result was, it is a bloody good place to be at this stage of the season. We are still in touch. Now 10 days to recover players and refocus to play the Mancs and it is the next big one.

    Sunderland do not even have 7 on the bench from what I am seeing. 6 in total including a certain Manquillo............the guy we had on loan?

    Only rumoured line up I saw has Henderson out and Sturridge starting. Otherwise unchanged.

    I do not like the one-off game much either. That is why I'd go for direct encounters first. However there are many factors influencing the goal difference that I do not think it is fair to use that e.g. similar scenario to what we have now but with games the other way round. We are home to Sunderland then away to City 48hrs later. 4-0 up after 60minutes.....the team would lay-off, bring on subs etc. and take it easier. Same if an important cup game is in a few days time.

    If it were up to me goal difference should not be a deciding factor when it comes to awarding a league title. If two teams are tied I'd go for direct encounters and if all remains equal, then a play off.
