  2. My thoughts exactly. He was displaced by a newly arrived Reina over here. How can he ever dream of displacing Casillas who is same level as Reina and well established at Real?

  4. Parry did comment about Simao a few weeks ago too.
  5. Couple of snippets: French media reporting that Marseille will offer £6.2m for Cisse in the next few days. Italian website (Sport Alice) reporting that following the high asking price for Malouda our target is now Camoranesi. Same site also claims that we are in for Trezeguet (cash only deal, we are not interested in selling Crouch to Juve).
  6. I have always liked Benayoun. Of course I'd be disappointed if he were to be our major summer signing, but he is not going to be that. He is a valuable addition to the squad. He is good on the ball and very intelligent. An excellent buy for the squad I'd say.

  8. I think that with a 1yr period to get things right, most of the major stadiums can handle it as the organisation needed mostly is when entering the stadium and in the immediate area outside the stadium. It is not too difficult a task in my opinion. The fact that these things were not in place in Athens just shows the incompetence of the UEFA people assigned to check such things.
  9. That is correct Kev. Boarding is usually refused if the person is visibly intoxicated and is considered to be a potential problem on the flight. However in Pennant's case, he may have been well behaved but just dead tired. If he was quiet during check-in and was taking a nap awaiting boarding there would have been no reason not to board him unless the guy could not walk straight. It is not a major incident as such as there was no trouble caused by Pennant, however talk by some people that administering oxygen is a normal thing to do with drunk people is b******s as it only happens when people pass out and the crew are concerned about their well being.
  10. Judging by that comment you'd expect people to believe that all the charter flights heading back to the UK from holiday destinations are one big oxygen tent. Administering oxygen on board is not an "automatic" thing. I can tell you that, I work in the industry. You administer oxygen, not because someone is drunk or hungover but because he has passed out, collapsed, is having difficulty breathing etc. Very different in my opinion even though the former can lead to the latter scenario which would then raise the question "How f***ing drunk was he in the first place?"
  11. I would not take the Mancini quotes literally. I think it may have been a veiled message to Roma stating "We are interested but we have other options, some already at the club. Do not try to rip us off."
  12. Below is an article I found on calciomercato.com. Was translating it when IE crashed for me, but here is what is said in a nutshell: 1. This Pederzoli is a transfer market consultant for Liverpool. Anyone ever heard of this? 2. Liverpool are interested in Trezeguet, however they will never include Alonso in a deal to bring him to Anfield as Xabi is considered to be fundamental to Rafa's plans. 3. Zenden has been given permission to talk to other clubs by Rafa. Roma are interested and he may end up in Italy. Liverpool may however still choose to sign him on on a new deal. 4. Liverpool have followed Mancini closely over the last year, however the interest has cooled since Pennant's performances have improved and Pennant seems to have convinced the Liverpool management that he is good enough. 5. Sissoko to Juventus is very unlikely. The main reasons being that: i. The price would possibly too high for Juventus seeing that the English Premier League is in a much better financial position than most other leagues. ii. It is Liverpool's intention to strengthen the squad and not to sell players.

    Sissoko sold?

Ranieri has apparently cooled Juve's interest in Momo. Here is what he said in a Tuttosport interview: "I know Sissoko well as I coached him at Valencia." said Ranieri "He is a midfielder who offers a lot in terms of quantity and has a tendency towards good quality too. Here we give more importance to quality. I am not going to stall on this because of his young age but if we are looknig to sign a player who will take charge of the team, then age does come into play." .

  15. Him? Ever possible? Never! Really? Yes!!!
  16. For sheer effect I loved the 2 goals in 2 mins against Bolton on New Year's day. Both excellent goals, resulting from excellent build up.
  17. Dudek Babbel Hyypia Henchoz Riise Smicer Hamann McAllister Kewell Litmanen Baros
  18. Corriere Dello Sport reporting that despite Rafa's initial resistance to selling Momo, a 14 million Euro fee has been agreed with Juventus. Also reported that Momo has also agreed personal terms which will see him earn 2-2.5m Euros a year. Don't shoot the messenger..........
  19. Watched 5 out of those 6 and indeed they were some of the best games England featured in out of those I have seen. Would put the Italia 90 semi in there as well as England played very well on the day.
  20. Maradona Pele Cruyff Puskas Di Stefano Platini Beckenbauer Banks Garincha Gerd Muller (the one with least talent by far but the best specialist of all time)
  21. 4 guys seated next to me got up and left at HT, never to return (to those 4 seats anyway).

    Unbelievable

Snorky will be in the new 24 series. Starts in the Luton area with a race against time to find a ticket and ends up in Greece with a last sec winner.........

    Milan Fans

Milan fans are complaining about lack of tickets so something is not adding up here.
  24. Was watching Milan Channel last night and they have the same problem. Fans are seething about only having 16,900 tickets from the club and there were protest chants aimed at Vice-president Galliani.
  25. If I remember well despite being mauled by Valencia we had a decent penalty shout turned down when Owen raced into their box and was tripped.
