The nicest thing I can say about understanding Carragher now is that he’s a TV journalist. He needs engagement, the older he gets, the more detached he is from the game and the less relevant he will be but right now he’s in the peak of his powers. I think Arsenal spooked us into Isak and he would suit them better than us but here we are with no plan, no confidence and a disjointed mess. I still think Isak will be as good as Torres for us but needs his Gerrard. Our players are good, some of them are great but for whatever reason it’s not working with Slot’s philosophy. He philosophy has a slow build up and prescriptive patterns like Guardiola but lacks the potency in the last 20 yards.
