Great player from what ive seen. He wants to be part of it and he will be at this rate. What a goal!!!
-
I don't care what you call him, he's a player. If that is his standard I'm happy. Real happy!!!
-
I agree. I'm just struggling with the thought of dropping Hyypia, he's a legend. Agger needs to play so Sami gets a rest when Carra comes back. I am just paranoid it will go wrong and we drop points. After all we broke LFC records last year!
-
He played so well you just have to acknowledge it. As good as Sami is this bloke wants his spot and he offers more going forward. Sami though against the best (chelsea, a***, Man U) is a given IMO.

Apologies for arrogant tone last night (oz time), i was drunk. Actually i was splattered.
-
Sorry Jose, you have to win it. Stop making excuses. Just win it! PS sorry, do you need more money?
-
From someone still planning their first visit to Anfield, that is a great story. I love Liverpool FC!!!!
-
Parry's comments are perfectly in line with previous comments that we are not broke but close to it. Many LFC supporters believe it and hopefully many of our competitors. Especially the one's we are buying players off. It was a huge risk, but supporters are asking for the board to back Rafa now. Personally I think they have with Kuyt. The deal was done at a strange time. I still hope we will buy L Neill and after 1/9/06 we get taken over by a very philanthropic Bill Gates.

Rafa signed Zendon as cover for CM and LM. Hamann had a contract that ran out this year. He had a clause that allowed him to stay another year. He decided to leave so he could play regularly. We could of payed him more and offerred a longer contract to keep him, but, and i hate to ask again, Who do we drop from Alonso momo Stevie So Didi can play regularly? I know we all want Didi here but HE chose to leave.
-
Apologies for the bold. But i live in Australia and i am sure it was made pretty public at the time that Didi played a game which activated a clause in his contract which meant he could play here again on the same terms for another year. If this is not true i apologise. I believe it to be true though and he did not sign it. Why? He wanted to play regularly............ fair play to him. So i ask what should we have done to avoid Didi leaving? In particular who do we drop, Stevie, Momo or Xabi! Or do we be honest with him? He chose to leave on the basis of what his prospects were and we had no choice in the matter. I wish he was still here. He won us #5 IMO.
-
Thank you Mike - He chose to leave us. He had another year on his contract to stay, his choice. I ask again - who misses out to allow Didi regular games? Momo Stevie Xabi Or we could lie to him and tell him he will start ahead of Xabi and he signs the contract and we shaft him. I wish we did that now, in hindsight (Momo's injury) but to be honest it's just not Liverpool. We don't shaft our legends. He chose to leave, wish him luck and move on.

Don't know where your from, but on Fox sports (Aus) last Sat night, Robbie Slater, who is respected to a fair degree, told Australia "his time at liverpool is limited". Now that may not be news in England but it is in Australia and Harry (his agent) has acted quickly to deny those rumours. Quite rightly IMO. Harry will kick a*** this year IMO, after Xmas he will dominate. Hopefully
-
Personally i never used to like him either but he as an Aussie can i say he has changed my opinion of him through his performances over the last year and yes i did see his brain explosion at the world cup. He is a very determined individual. If we get him and i suspect it will happen by saturday i look forward to it because i suspect he will do very well here. PS added benefit is he cant break any of our legs (except at training )
-
I think Rafa said our best will come after the INTL break. to me that says something. He knows our preparation for this season has not been perfect. We now have a lot of injuries and we have have tough games coming up but Rafa is the only man I want in charge for the next 4 weeks. Rafa is the man, ask Stevie.
-
Well did any other press go with it. I half expect the British press to go with it in the next few days if news is very quiet. Robbie Slater commented just prior to our game and on Saturday that "rumours are" Harry's days at Liverpool are numbered. Harry's reply appears 2 days later in Australia. In the off chance you don't give a flying f*** either way, disregard this post

It amazes me how people keep saying we should of kept Didi. He had a clause in his contract which was enacted last year which gave him an option to stay this year. He chose to leave so he could play regularly. End of. If you still think we should of kept him, please tell me who out of Xabi, Momo and Stevie we should drop to allow him to play because one of those would of had to make way for him to play regularly. Sorry for the rant but someone has to do it!

Agree with most of that. Harry was consistantly "good" last year in that he was good and added balance. I and i think everyone here wants Harry back to what he is capable of which is consistantly "outstanding". Wishing him all the best in his recovery and lets hope he gets it right this time.
-
Thats true but in this case i think this was a reply to Robbie slater's comments on Saturday night where he suggested he would not be back until November and then he went on to suggest there were rumours that Harry would be leaving Liverpool soon. These reports seem to have been released in Australia to quash those rumours.
-
Perhaps but it wasnt until he arrived back at Melwood that the correct diagnosis was made. This was due to ongoing pain which should of receded once the treatment the OZ medics had him on. Once that didnt work they had to look at alternatives. So the initial diagnosis was incorrect.

Just seen this From Sportal.com.au Socceroos star Harry Kewell has vowed to return from injury for Liverpool better than ever. Kewell is sidelined after succumbing to injury during Australia's World Cup finals campaign in Germany in June, and is not expected to make a comeback for the Reds for another couple of months. But having watched his team snatch a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday, Kewell told The Daily Telegraph he believes he hasn't yet reached the peak of his powers. "When I joined Liverpool in July 2003 I was the club's top scorer at the start of November on nine goals," Kewell said. "Since than I haven't been fully fit at any point and my form has suffered." "I know what I can do and as long as I'm fully fit my form will take care of itself. No one has seen the best of Harry Kewell yet. It's so frustrating not being able to join the rest of the Liverpool squad and get a proper pre-season done but there's not much I can do about it." "I've no idea how long it will take. But I won't be taking any short cuts this time. Doctor Mark Waller and the Liverpool medical team have been brilliant with me since the World Cup and are determined to get me back to full fitness no matter how long it takes." The 27-year-old has returned to training in the pool and on the exercise bike after completing a six-week course of antibiotics following the operation he underwent to have fluid drained from his left foot after the World Cup. In one sense I am glad both he and the club are taking their time to get this right but i have to say its bloody frustrating. No doubt its incredibly frustrating for him. I would think LFC are spewing at the OZ medical team for misdiagnosing his condition. From what i can gather if the "septic arthritis" condition continued for too long it could of become very serious eg loss of limb

I heard that too. hope its wrong but they referred to his groin problem which is not what is keeping him out as far as we know. He is supposed to be available early september and i for one hope he is because for all his problems with us he is a very intelligent player that worked very well for us last season. I also believe he can help "speedy" a lot in his first season. Having said all that i expect this to be Harry's last year.
-
If Rafa said he was not going to play to often i think Rafa is just being honest. We owe Didi that after his service and he had the option to stay. He didnt which was obviously his choice and i for one wish him all the best. Still wish he stayed though!
-
Not sure why Harry's time is well and truly over! Having said that Robbie Slater on OZ tv said on Saturday that his latest reports suggests he is out till November. Hope that is not true, we will need him this year.
