  1. one more year. It was a 5 year contract.
  2. He has been here for a month now and to be honest he has kept a low profile, even when the Socceroos were here. They had snippets on SBS of an interview they are going to show in full on Sunday. Besides that he did a short interview with Ninemsn (he has a contract with them) when he first got off the plane. He would of been inundated with requests while here with out doubt. He has reportedly had 4 operations in this past month on his foot, hip and groin and if he gets the all clear today will fly back this weekend. I wonder what the club will do IF he comes back in March firing on all cylinders. Do they 1) sell to the highest bidder 2) offer a new contract 3) offer reduced contract with pay for play incentives I mention point 3) because it is possible Harry may want to stay a bit longer and finally pay a bit back to LFC before moving on. Unlikely though it is I would be devastated if we invest this time and money getting him right only to sell him and watch him dominate elsewhere. He is still our best LW particularly if sorts out his groin and it does appear the club are doing all they can to get this fixed properly without rushing his return (Harry has been very complimentary to the club for the way they have handled this latest injury).
  3. I saw a snippet in my local mail that said they were at a venue. Are you sure he was "clubbing and partying"? Were there any other reports (I'm in SA) as the one i saw did not say anything, could of been an appearance for a sponsor or anything.
  4. From The Age.com.au Socceroos midfielder Harry Kewell can't wait to return home to England, but says his playing comeback is still months away. The Liverpool star has undergone groin and foot surgery in Sydney over the past couple of months and while his injuries are progressing well he won't get back on to the pitch until at least February. Kewell has not played since booting Australia into the knock-out stage of Germany's World Cup with an equaliser against Croatia. "It's going to be a while," Kewell told reporters at his former high school in Sydney's west. "We're looking past February. "I'm just itching to get back into playing." Kewell has been dogged by injuries over the past two years including groin, foot, ankle, achilles and hip. He continues to suffer an arthritic condition in his left foot and just last week had what he hopes to be the final operation on his groin. "My foot is a bit sore at the moment and my groin is a bit sore at the moment," Kewell said. "I just had that done on Friday, but the surgeons are very happy. "I meet up with them again on Friday and if they give me the all clear I'm back off to England. "It's been a long hard thing for me, seven weeks so far, and I'm really looking forward to going home and seeing my family." Kewell is no chance of playing Australia's next friendly against Ghana in November, but said he would try to make the trip to London to support his Socceroo teammates. But of immediate concern however is the poor start to the league by Liverpool. Kewell's club sits 11th and 11 points behind leaders Manchester United with just three wins from nine games this season. But Kewell said the Reds will kick into gear soon. "What's wrong with them, I don't know?" Kewell asked. "I think we're playing well, we're just not finishing our chances. "If you look at our past record we've always had a slow start to the season, but we always pick it up and we know where the back of the net is and it only takes one spark from any one of our great players to do that." Kewell also added his support to Graham Arnold's work as the Australian team's head coach and said the Socceroos needed a "general" at the helm permanently. "Graham's doing a good job, but it's not my decision, but again I think we need a great leader," he said. "I think you need a leader in any team ... In football you need a general I suppose. "My boss at Liverpool, he is that, and we need that for the Australian team to take us forward. "Guus (Hiddink) was probably our best one we ever had, I mean, I thoroughly enjoyed working under him and I thought he was one of the best managers I've ever worked for and I think if we can get someone as half as good as him I think we'll go a long way."
  5. All started by Jose and it appears that if he toned it down the next day it might not have been so big. I thought it was a clumsy challenge and to be honest a ban might be appropriate. It is late, very late. Jose needs better advisers. Or a muzzle.

Xabi wasnt great but was left exposed by Zendon. Thats why Rafa had Crouchy play deeper and deeper. Xabi is coming good ........................... almost surely

  12. Adriano? EDIT: I am sure there are more ridiculous nominations but i am still working through the list.
  13. Mancs. As an OOC supporter i do not have the emotion with Everton. Fully understand how locals would say Everton though.
  14. Gotta love King Kenny's comments. He should be Patron.
  15. Tis right. The point he makes is more important and that is? The media is full of s***, completely!
  16. Spot on. glad to see the players are not knee jerkers. Rafa will have told them to go and do what they must for their country but be ready when they come back cos it is time for LFC to stake their claim. Think i might invest further in our league prospects, seeing as the odds are getting juicy. Come on the REDS!!!!

FFS can someone close this thread, PLEASE!!
  18. Yep
  19. Good call Leo. Off topic but i wish some people had a better perspective/understanding on this type of situation. I am at a loss at some of the hatred shown to Harry Kewell by some because his body has not stood up to the rigours of the game. They are not machines, their human and like all of us suffer from all sorts of ailments.
  20. I have to admit, its the best so far.

  23. People are happy to give it to Harry and i understand that. His body has let him down badly but i know he would prefer to be out there tearing up defences like we all know he can. If these operations do not work his career is stuffed and we have no chance of 1) getting the World class player we should have. He has just turned 28 FFS. 2) Getting any money for him. As a LFC supporter i would be cheering him on. COME ON HARRY. GET IT F****** SORTED AND KICK SOME a***!!!
  24. That is a very simple but accurate description of why he is not here. Well said.
