  3. Law of averages says they will get one right eventually.
  4. Internationale (?) were more worthy than Sao Paulo last year, they defended well and restricted barca to few very good chances. I believe we will beat them over 2 legs and Rafa knows it. Ronnie was a little unlucky with a great free kick effort after they scored.

  8. Well i may of read too much into your post. He was seen just once in public in 6 weeks in Australia out on the town. Could of been a promotion for all i know. Considering his huge profile here in Australia he did one small (on arrival) and one large interview (on leaving) that i know of. I know Fox sports were not happy at not getting an interview. In the whole i felt he was obviously here for one thing only, to try and get some results on his rehab. Having followed his career pretty closely i have always had the impression he is an extremely determined professional sportsman. As a fan i wish he was more media friendly and at times felt he was too obsessed in achieving his goals. He no doubt frustrates his fans but i get the impression our frustration does not register compared to his. It is interesting Rafa comments on his mental strength as Graham Arnold and Frank Farina have both said this year he has more mental strength than any of his Oz team mates. This surprised me because i feel Harry hasnt always had the respect of the Oz team. This was IMO due to apparant lack of committment to come home when he had these niggles. It seems that they now realise he has had to endure many ailments and play through the pain barrier. Graham Arnold said the best individual performance in the WC for Australia was HK vs Croatia and it was clear from his comments it was because of his ability to get up for the game when obviously not 100% and then perform to level he did. He is a conundrum our Harry, but i havent given up on him. Not yet anyway.
  9. thats easy. Harry's drinking piss with his mates while Johnny's English
  10. So are you saying he is just on the piss and doesnt really care about getting fit. If he is "beering with his mates" why hasnt this come out in the media? Why has Rafa said "he is a good professional"? Why does Rafa continue to support him if he is a pisshead? We are all frustrated at his inability to stay fit for long periods but his performance against Chelsea in the FA cup semi sums it up for me. He went full pelt at that game and embarrassed every defender the chavs could throw up, but in doing so injured himself again throwing his world cup preparation into dissaray. But no he just wants to beer it up with his mates according to you
  11. Last year he played a role for us which provided great balance to the team in that he played as a true left winger to provide width knowing SG had a license to come inside. He also provided a valuable outlet for the midfield in the build up which allowed everyone to move forward. He therefore did not score many goals because he rarely got to scoring positions and he may not of got that many assists but if you go back and look at our goals he was involved in the build up to many of them. He also takes defenders because every manager respects his ability, this creates space in the final third. On top of that he rarely loses the ball because he is a very intelligent player. This is why Rafa rates him so highly i believe. Really hope this extended spell and operations have the desired effect because last year at 80% Harry was consistently good and a valuable member of our team. If he comes back at 90% or better he will transform the side and everyone will benefit. I fully understand frustration from supporters but like Leo just said, who has embarrassed the Chelsea defense like he did in the cup semi last year? I for one hope this is what we get to see on a more regular basis on his return now he has had a proper chance to rehabilitate.

  17. From the ECHO Stevie: The spark is back Nov 1 2006 By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo STEVEN GERRARD believes the 'spark' has returned to his game after admitting he'd not been producing the goods earlier in the season. The skipper was relieved to claim his first of the campaign in the 3-0 win over Bordeaux, as Liverpool secured their last 16 Champions League place. And now Gerrard senses a definite shift in momentum as the Reds seek to maintain their winning streak. "It was a weight off my mind to get the goal," he said. "I had a few chances before and you could see I was getting too anxious. But I just had a feeling it was going to come last night. "My form has been a lot better in training and I knew it was just a matter of time before I took it onto the pitch. "The most important thing for me is always going to be the team, but I know if I'm playing to my best I can have a big influence on our form. "I've been missing something since the start of the season. I've not had the spark to my game, and I definitelythink coming back from the World Cup has been a factor. "It's more to do with missing pre-season. You're never as sharp if you don't get the full pre-season training, and it's no coincidence as far as I'm concerned that if you look around Europe a lot of the major players haven't started the season that well."After the disappointing Premiership defeat to Manchester United on October 22, Gerrard felt it was essential the players responded. With three wins, and ten goals, he's confident the side is starting to move into a higher gear. "When we were on the bus home from Old Trafford, we were all down," he said. "We knew we'd let ourselves and the club down and we got together as a group and said to ourselves there had to be a strong reaction. "I think in the last few games you've seen that, and now it's important to keep that going." The smile has now returned to Gerrard's face, and he couldn't resist an extra swipe at the ongoing obsession with how 'happy' he is at Anfield. "What gets me down is losing games and hearing so much rubbish about me," he said. "I could go on for several paragraphs about what was written last weekend, but I think in this case I summed it up well enough in one sentence on Monday. "We're all a bit sick of reading the same things. I'm sick of it, the players are, the fans and the manager is. "I feel really sorry for the fans that they have to see the focus put on me again in those stories, but what can I do about it? "I think from the reaction of the supporters last night, it's clear to me they're not taking any notice of that stuff any more and that's exactly how I want it to be." Refreshing to hear this honesty. hope this continues.
  18. Rafa's father was in the media i believe and has schooled Rafa on its goings on. We saw earlier this year how he sorted Jose. Rafa is the man.
  19. He will star. what we do i have no idea.
  20. LiquidSnake What are the root causes why you think he can't produce consistently? It does matter what his motives are, because therein lies the answer. For you to suggest HK's motive's matter implies you know his motives. You even go as far to suggest the answer to Harry's inconsistencies is down to Harry's motive's. You therefore must know what his motives are. If not your post is nothing but mumbo jumbo crap.
  21. Is it really. How do you know?.............or is it just your opinion again?
  22. Your probably right. I just found it strange. We were 1-0 down when Harry got injured. He is not immune from criticism but he snapped a tendon in his groin. Should he play on? Well should he?
  23. I've still got no idea why Liverpool fans would boo one of their players in what must of been his biggest disappointment.
  24. Without doubt. I suspect the club want rid though. The Bascombe article in the Echo in the last week of the transfer window where he mentions that the club expects a last minute bid from Spurs seemed to be a plant from the club, a come a get him plea. If it was I am sure Harry would not be happy as he (Mandic) came out straight after and said that LFC had not mentioned selling him. Since the window has shut it appears the club have decided to bite the bullet and give Harry every chance of gaining full fitness as it does them no good having him at 75% as noone will buy. Hence my question as it is possible he will come back playing somewhere near his best and the club will have a decision to make.
