If this was the case I don't see why we would still be messing round haggling about Alves, anything can go wrong with a deal as Figo showed last season and if we can afford him we should bloody well get him signed now. We need 3 players and we can get one of them (Bellamy) for only £6M FFS! I personally think we're strapped for cash and Cisse's injury has put the cat amongst the pigeons. Regardless of what Rafa has said I imagine Parry is hoping either HK or Garcia have good WC's and we get decent bids for them, Garcia probably as I don't see where he is going to start many games at all. We as fans can't have it both ways, we want 'big' signings to compete with Chelsea yet don't want to spend so much on Alves? Just exactly how many Momo's are there out there for £5M anyway? I'd imagine that if the Cisse deal had gone through then no-one would give a toss how much Alves was costing, but the feeling now is that if we buy him we can't afford the two top class strikers that we need as well. I'd be happy if we bought Alves and one striker with pace of course this Summer and spent all our budget on them, we have Crouch and a fitter Robbie, we have FSP and possibly TLT coming back, we have Garcia and HK who can play as 2nd striker, we have Cisse back in November and we have Stevie who we can push further forward. Then in January we buy the other forward if Lyon take Djib off us. Get Alves in, I'm very keen for this to happen now.

I've read some b****x in this thread but you're easily the winner. What about the fans who want to go to the game, do make lots of effort but still can't get a ticket? Or are you saying that there are only 44,000 odd true liverpool fans because thats how many can go to the game? How long have you had your Season ticket and how did you get it?

FWIW on potential corporate packages, a mate of mine and his business partner have a table in 'The Mancunian suite' at Man City's ground, it seats 8 people and you get a free 4 course meal and seats on the halfway line, all booze is paid for. This table costs their company £26,000 per season fixed for 3 years. There must be 100 tables in this one suite alone, and I think there are 3 separate suites.
