Radio 5 yesterday at the start of our game said that they'd heard from Blackburn officially that they will only let Neill go if they get Warnock + CASH for him otherwise he stays until the Summer. Warnock has got to be worth a couple of million at least, so they want £3M for Neil who is out of contract in 6 months?
-
If we buy Richards then he can play as the attacking player out of a central 3, with three at the back, 2 wing backs and 2 strikers. Not a huge fan of the system myself but it could be devastating when we went forward. Richards(A.N.Other), Carra, D Agger Alves, Gerrard, Kaka, Alonso/Sissoko, Gonzalez/Riise Bellamy/Kuyt/Torres/etc Champ Man stuff I know!
-
I think the point is that we could afford him if both sides wanted it. He ain't gonna stay at Milan anyway is he?
-
Does Kev look like a bald Sam Allardyce or is it just me?
-
Thanks, I'll try them both.

How much would Lennon cost?

So all we need then is a bit of cover? Makes me wonder why we aren't and haven't been up there challenging for the title with our squad, and why we have done so badly against the top 3 sides over the last few years. GK - sorted long term. Defence - new RB as cover and to take Finnans place over the next 18 months or so - Richards please. CB to play as Aggers long term partner, could be Paletta but Sami has little time left at the top level and Carra is nearly 30 - could turn out to be richards as well in which case get him and alves in. New LB, same as RB position to replace JAR eventually - Bale please. Midfield - Pennant not looking too good yet and distinctly lacking in bottle so far, Zenden going soon, HK injury prone - will he ever come back, Gonzales still settling in and looking injury prone. New RM at least, possibly a faster version of Xabi as well if anyone knows one? Also new LM in the next 18 months even if HK comes back to provide an alternative to Speedy. Strikers - 1 top quality striker wanted, pace, power, good goalscorer - Torres please. We need the above at least to challenge United, Chelsea and the a*** over the next few years! Remember this season we bought Pennant, Bellamy and got gonzales - Chelsea bought Shevchenko, Ashley Cole and Ballack! And no posts moaning about the lack of homegrown talent coming through please!

What, as 17,000 X 6,000 is around £100M not £300M?
-
You're having a laugh mate, Ronaldo is already one of the best wingers in the world and what is he 21?
-
He went down in front of us, and I thought he was looking to come off for a while before that. He went down holding his head and then worked his way down to his leg - he'd been kicked and elbowed a few times with no protection from the ref or linesman. Thought he looked quite good but a little lightweight. Thought Gonzalez looked great before he went off!
-
McClair was s**** mate, Fergie's friend but still s****.
-
How so? Sami has been a great player for us over the last 5 years, easily GH's best buy, and can realistically be considered a latter-day legend. The fact that he is nowhere near the same class as players like Hughes, Hansen, Lawrenson, Thomson, Smith etc is not meant as a slight.

Massive thanks to Stemano as me and my lad are attending tonight courtesy of tickets provided by him! leaving in an hour or so as we live miles away - very excited!
-
As we speak Neill(sp?) is a far better defender than Sami and the deal would be a good one for us, we are not going to get a fee for Sami and if we wait until the Summer when Neill is on a free we stand a chance of losing him to another team. Neill's performance against United where he bossed Ronaldo better than just about anyone I can remember over the last 12 months or so, was far better than any you would expect from 'just an Aussie Psycho', he has pace as well. Personally I will be gutted when Sami goes because he is a true Liverpool legend - considering the fact that he wouldn't get near a list of our best CB's of all time.
-
Richards is easily worth £10M, and Bale apparently has a £7M fee on his head come January. We won't og course but we should be looking for at least one of them.
-
Villa would fetch around £25M, so take off Reina and we still need to find over £15M, before Chelsea and United come in and bid £35M for him, all this on top of buying Bellamy, Kuyt and Crouch in the last 18 months for over £20M? Our forwards are fine, its the rest of the team that needs adressing, starting with RW, CM and LB. If Pennant aint good enough to move Zenden out of the centre for, then why did we spend £6.5M on him?
-
This is your famous sarcasm yeah? Finnan was the best, if not only defender we had on the pitch most of the game and played the right side on his own until Pennant came on. Carra was rubbish, as were Hyppia and JAR. Alonso actually gave a **** unlike anyone else who started in midfield and Crouch looked like he couldn't control a dog on a lead. Kuyt tried hard - which is the lease you expect from a Liverpool player. Not one of our side would get in their team on yesterdays performance And our 'best midfield in Europe' was totally overrun by a side without a single recognised tackler! Agger when he came on did more than Sami and Carra all game. Awful display again, as bad as against United away.
-
Bellamy was a yard offside mate, not one of our team would get in their side on todays showing - shockingly bad!
-
Zenden looked, quick and full of running the other night. I think he'll do alright against Arsenal because they are not overly physical.
-
So who would we get to replace him bearing those facts in mind, and who would cost nothing and be better than Robbie? Fowler showed against Reading that he's still one of the sharpest players around, he loves the club and would be ideal to show the young and new players what finishing is all about. FWIW I think Zenden will be off, HK will be given next season to see if he can recapture any kind of form; after the time and money we've invested in him it would be madness to get rid of a player who if fit would be 1st choice in his position for a couple of million. Dudek will go on a free, Carson will come back and fight it out with Pepe for 1st choice. One of Warnock or Aurelio will go probably Warnock which could be a shame as he's finally looking like he might be a player in the short spells he's getting, TLT will go as his contract is up or nearly up, Diao bye bye on a free, most of the reserves out of contract will be let go. Fsp - dunno but he looks like a 'Rafa player' to me - versatile, fast, hard-working and can change a game off the bench. Got a feeling one of the spanish lads will be off, probably Garcia but with Capello at Madrid possibly Alonso! And RE Cisse I'm sure the fee has already been agreed for £8M, and I've heard that Kirkland went for £2.5M up front rising to a max of £3.5M.

Pennant and Gonzales rested for a fortnight and trained with Rafa, Gerrard the same but for a week, Momo essential if he's fit to play, Xabi has played how many minutes in a losing Spain side? Zenden played for the Ressies midweek, very surprised if he gets near the bench. Pennant--Gerrard--Momo--Gonzales for me and lets work them to death.
-
Kuyt's injured, we pose little attacking threat with that team.
-
As Rafa said..."we are not creating enough clear-cut chances"
Mikey replied to Toni's topic in Liverpool FC
Ronaldhino and who? Last season Gerrard was the best European attacking midfielder playing, give him a break please. This season Alonso has been below par, and we keep chopping and changing our wide players - there lies the problem to me. -
I'm sure I heard that Peltier was highly rated at the club, and he's only 18 isn't he?
