    I agree FWIW - seeing him for the first time was like when Gerrard played he first few games - you could just tell that all things been equal he would be huge. This lad is the same. No sure on that - playing Lampard and Gerrard means that one of them (ie Gerrard) doen't play him natural game. Beckham, Carrick (or Carra), Gerrard, and Cole would provide a more balanced midfield

    Not only are his feet not fast enough - his mind ain't either. RM soon dropped the Beckham in the centre experiment - leave him doing what he is actually quite good at, dead ball crosses & the occational cross from the right in open play. To expect anything more from him is unfairly raising expectations. Anyway - Gerrard for rightback

    Yes I think you are right - I think there was a hell of a lot of planning. Crouch in particular has done exactly what Rafa wanted out of him & no doubt how he planned to use him prior to buying him

    Time to take a lead from Rugby League Don't stop the game (normally) & allow the player to be attended on the pitch. I also like the way that they do sub's - ie the game doesn't stop I would also allow players to come back on after been subbed (like Baros!) ie goes off for treatment & a play replaces him, comes back & that player (or indead a different one) leaves the pitch

    I was going to suggest that we all put a dvd of the final on at 19:45 BST & do a match thread. Those without a dvd of the final would have to follow the match thread to find the outcome!

    The French FA had 10000 tickets, I guess (with a fair few French players on show) that a lot of those where not 'redistributed' like the turkish Fa's allocation where last year. A mate of mine went ticketless - he said there where 'thousands' outside durring the game. Also the touts wanted 3000 to 4000 euros per ticket - how much were the Turks asking last year?
