  2. Aye, I'm going with a couple of mates. Driving over there Wednesday morning and leaving that night.

  5. Agree with the others, but Kuyt is not powerful.

  7. Pretty simple I thought - Giggs and Ronaldo are the pace and Rooney is the power.
  8. I think it's tough to say who the most important player is...but I agree he's up there in the top 3 of 4. And I definitely agree about your last point.
  9. But that's just it, he doesn't get marked out of a game. He still influences it, just not in the way of raking 40 yard passes across the field. AND THANK GOD he doesn't try...we all remember the spell Gerrard went through where he was still trying to make that killer pass all the time despite the pressure he was under. Alonso's job when he's being man-marked like that is to create space for others, and he does that BEAUTIFULLY. Again, if the others don't do something with the ball after that, it's not Xabi's fault. Thanks Spike.
  10. Balls, when was the last time he showed up in a truly important game? And he's a c*nt.
  11. I thoroughly agree, think he'd be very average.
  12. That's a crock. Sure, Xabi has been less effective this season. BUT, anyone watching the games can clearly see that the majority of teams have identified him as our catalyst and try to man-mark him out of the game. He has less time on the ball and can't be as effective because of it - it's up to the other players to take advantage of the space that creates and make up for what's lost, and they haven't carried that load. Bottom line, Xabi is a class, class player - and after Stevie and Carra he'd be the number 1 outfield player I'd hate to lose.
  13. Has Ronaldo performed in any big games this season?
  14. What a load of b******s, the promotion playoffs on show for the past week have been more entertaining.

  17. Just got the email: Thanks for raising your concerns regarding offensive comments made in David Bowes' article. We have edited the paragraph in question and placed the following disclaimer below the article: Normally, we distance ourselves from the opinions of contributors to Fans Comment articles, allowing the pieces to stand or fall on their own merit. In the case of this article, comments by the author inferring the culpability for the Hillsborough disaster lay with Liverpools fans has provoked such a strong reaction ? and understandably so ? that we felt it necessary to remove the offending paragraph. We would like to reaffirm that those opinions were those of the author only and were neither representative of the views of ToffeeWeb nor those of Evertonians in general. Regards, Lyndon ToffeeWeb Webmaster webmaster@toffeeweb.com www.toffeeweb.com Little late, but fair play.
  18. No, but I was 13 when I got it.
  19. Oh yeah! I still have that white tracksuit top...bit small for me now obviously, but it's a nice memory. I wonder if I tossed it out we'd win the league again?
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJoGZcgrf0E Here it is.
  21. Kenny's always the Crown Paints shirt for me after he scored that beautiful volley against Chelsea.
  22. Absolutely agree. And the one with the big white v-neck collar always reminds me of Owen, especially since I think it was 3 sizes too big. Agreed. I was 11 when Barnes signed for us so I think it was right at the time I was starting to really understand football rather than just like it, but he's the best I've ever seen for us. Beardsley makes the top 5 too.
  23. I would really, really like us to sign this fella. Strong, plays between the lines but knows how to score a goal too, and tons of character. Granted he's probably a bit mental too, but that's alright.
  24. 'Tis funny that - I was on eBay the other day and saw that silver shirt, and thought of Barnes immediately...every time I see that shirt the first thing I think of is Digger. Does that ring true for anyone else?! The red shirt with the white flecks doesn't make me make that connection immediately, even though it was the same year...but the silver shirt, every time.
  25. An absolute genius of a player. Remember him scoring in front of me against Spurs, he was my favourite player. That goal in the 4-4 against Everton would have been my pick of all time if it hadn't been for the Dalglish resignation soon after. His ability to move into the right space was amazing.
