  8. true, but are they getting ripped off?
  9. anny, you really do push the 'Rafa knows best' spiel a bit too much. By your reckoning everyone should have a disclaimer at the end of each post, or better still not post at all if it they questions his decisions. Still enjoy your rants tho

  11. Being optimistic, I reckon we will get Alves, Kuyt & Bellamy. No Pennant as long as we get Alves. + Gonzalez, Paletta, Aurelio.
  12. This from another Liverpool forum (this is anfield) posted by a Dutch fan Hi Guys , Im from The Netherlands and a Feyenoord supporter and read about Liverpool's interest in our Cult Hero Dirk Kuyt..... I'll give you some info on him as you probably dont know a lot about him.. Dirk started off playing for Fc Utrecht as a right winger and was being played as a striker in his final season there , and because of his sensational performances he was quickly snapped up by Feyenoord for 700.00 pounds . He also has 16 caps for Holland (as a right winger) and he found the net 4 times. Kuyt is reckoned to be worth 17.5 million Euro's (11.5 million pounds) but if you give us Jan Kromkamp in reverse the fee offcourse may be lower as we want Kromkamp badly as we need a good right full back. Dirk Kuyt is quite similar to Alan Shearer. Kuyt is by far the fittest football player in Holland and is the hardest working striker I have ever seen. Dirk Kuyt has only missed 1 League match in the past 5 years as you can see below and he is never injured !! He also is a leader as he is Feyenoord's captain . Dirk is not the fastest player in the world but his will power takes him very far. He's a lethal finisher and creates an amazing amount of goals for the team as well. He can hold up play very well because he is very strong. His weaker points are his first touch and his left foot is not very good. His heading could also do with some improving (not as much as the other 2 points) Here are some stats of him.... 1998/99 FC Utrecht 28 5 Eredivisie 1999/00 FC Utrecht 32 6 Eredivisie 2000/01 FC Utrecht 32 13 Eredivisie 2001/02 FC Utrecht 34 7 Eredivisie 2002/03 FC Utrecht 34 20 Eredivisie 2003/04 Feyenoord 34 20 Eredivisie - 8 assists 2004/05 Feyenoord 34 29 Eredivisie - 13 assists !! 2005/06 Feyenoord 33 22 Eredivisie - 18 assists !! As you can see Dirk Kuyt has been a major players for Feyenoord having a hand in 110 goals in 101 games !!
  13. be surprised if he wasnt there!
  14. exactly. Rafa is looking forward. The future is bright.
  15. Not strictly, but its still being accumulated by many governments and demand is growing (especially from countries like Russia/China) They key thing is what Gordon did with the money he got from selling the reserves. Anyone know? Surely if it was for the benefit of the country, we'd be easily able to buy back that gold now? Why bother though.. the markets collapsed
  16. yeh, my timing was good wasn't it... maybe I should buy a house & get the crash started! Regarding Base/Precious metals - everythings been falling recently (except property ). Gold is only back to early April levels though, wheras Wall St/FTSE are back where they were in December. Not sure about base metals/commodities - they may well be over from what I've gathered. Gold is different though. It has been tagged as a commodity, but in reality its money (a reserve currency). A correction was due in both markets, but it might just be the start of something bigger for equities.
  17. Stevie could probably do it better than anyone else. With Zenden maybe as an attacking centre mid?

Nothing wrong with Riise's crossing... and he's goes through patches where he can take on people for fun. Unfortunately this comes and goes.

  22. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...utd/5066204.stm Manchester United have had a £10m bid for midfielder Michael Carrick rejected by Tottenham, BBC Sport can reveal. Spurs dismissed the offer, insisting United would have to double their offer to land the 24-year-old, who is part of the England squad at the World Cup. Manchester United faxed their offer to Tottenham on Friday, but it was swiftly turned down. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Carrick as a replacement for Roy Keane who left the club last December.
