I think SWP is a better dribbler than Pennant but Pennant is a better crosser. I think the quality of delivery is what is important to Rafa.

I see where you're coming from but I do think that Rafa is moving to a system where players are required to perform a certain role. If a player can fulfil that role he'll work for the system. I don't think you need individual brilliance as long as you do what you're supposed to. I think Pennant would be very good in that role. In a lot of ways I think that Pennant is very understated in his effectiveness (well on the field anyway). He's kinda like the right mid version of Finnan during his Fulham days.

So your arguement is Pennant is not as good as Gerrard so why should we sign him? I think as Rafa has said it's about 'possibilities'. Horses for courses and all that. There is no way we will ever under Rafa have a 'stock' formation so I'm not sure how you can use the argument that we'll have four men across the middle on a consistant basis.

Well I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one then. I think he is likely to cost about £5million and I'd be prepared to pay that for him. I think very few players in world football are better than Gerrard on the right but that doesn't mean we shouldn't sign someone for that position. We need a RM.

With respect, but how much have you seen of him then? I think he's very effective, well able to dribble and almost always gets his cross in. His crosses also seem to be of a high standard and he also works hard and tracks back. Think he'd be an excellent signing for £5million or £6million.

How come, cos of the 'off field' issues? Think he's a very good player myself and would do damage on the right for us.
