Thanks for that - just interesting cos earlier in the season he seemed to be the perpetual man of the match and now he seems to bearly feature in the match reports - was beginning to worry he might have been going backwards in his development.

Effective shot stopper certainly but I don't think he's been the best keeper as such... however as this thing is heavily influenced by press coverage then I reckon you're probably on to something there. -

But he says 'maybe Xabi Alonso or Cesc' - I really don't think there is too much to go on there. Xabi recently responded to some speculation about a move to Real and while he wasn't as emphatic as I'd have liked he basically just dismissed the story. I'd be a lot more worried if Barca were in for Xabi than if Real were.

Well who do we expect to be nominated for player of the year then? Cos in all probability they'll be in the team of the year? I'd say Gerrard, Rooney and Terry - beyond that I'm stumped. Young player Rooney, Cesc, Sissoko, Bent and AN Other -
That and the fact that Rafa is trying to creat a worldwide shortage for all other clubs!!! Look how difficult it is to buy a defensive midfielder now after GH harvested all that young crop!

Have you heard any more from your contact on our supposed meetings with the player himself? Would have thought the Mancs would probably be favourites to get him though - Ferguson has been courting him for years and I'm sure they'll offer higher wages than we would. A Rooney/ Ronaldo strikeforce would be very, very difficult to deal with!
