  1. i think Pardews West Ham play decent football too. but who really wants the Newcastle job. certainly no manager of any repute is going to work for ringmaster of the Geordie Circus, Mr Shepherd. they may end up with Shearer as player manager.
  2. are you mental. Istanbul was the defining moment for reds everywhere. we were under dogs, three nil down and getting whipped, from the build up to it after the win against Chelsea, to Taksim square, the banners, the songs, the passion, the YNWA at half time, the greatest YNWA ever, Stevie G, Vladi in his greatest ever game, Xabi's pen, Dudek's heroic last minute save, then the pens, the ONE MILLION people who turned up to welcome the boys back home. the greatest night ever, and something that might never be topped, with all due respect to the treble seaon, it doesnt even come close
  3. ah go on, i heard Jon Hall was planning on proposing to Jonesy
  4. they do. personally i would be dead against it, even though Liverpool would profit enormously from it, more than anyone with the exception of the Manc's probably. i just think it would virtually kill competition off
  5. i'll go all the days if anyone else is up for it
  6. slightly different as we arent listed on the stock exchange
  7. so would the solution not be to bring in a team of marketing bod's and start selling ourselves to emerging markets like Asia and Africa? r
  8. ah now, in fairness it is
  9. Carra is our best left back. he is also our best centre half. we need a new left back, but i'd rather get a proper left back in, then move the best right back in the league over to left back to accomodate an untried right back. so in a one word answer to the original question no
  10. i think a big factor in putting over seas investors off is the very small potential of making money out of it. the big explosion in football wealth occurred between 1992 and 2002. since then it has levelled out, and with the tv companies now being forced to split bewteen companies, so the clubs wont recieve as much money, and with tv coverage saturated, there is not so much potential to increase turnover. in the late 80's, man Utd were almost bought outright for less than 20 million, and here we are less than 20 years later, and they are probably valued at around £700million. thats a huge increase by any stretch, and great value for money in 1990. at the minute, clubs in england dont represent Value for money to an investor. investors dont look at the club like fans do, they look at it as a cash cow to be milked. David Moores hasnt done that to us, and for all his faults, i honestly believe he has the clubs best interest at heart
  11. anyone can see the books. Both Arsenal and Man u are saddled with huge debt, as are a lot of other clubs. we arent. its not rocket science. we are living, ad have lived, well within our means Posts merged: a lot of people dont actually look at Morgans offer like that though. ah, he's a proper red, he used to hitch a lift to games, being the phrase trotted out time and time again. the offer he made was a joke, and someone who i firmly beleive, would have taken us down the road of ground share
  12. what do you want Moores to do? try and get longtern investment into the club that is the right move for LFC, or sell his shares to teh highest bidder, regardless of their intent and motives? what you want is best of both worlds, and simply wont happen. we are in better financial shape than every club in the English league, (with the exception of Chelsea, but that is a freak show, and without Roman they would collapse) we have pretty low debt, a healthy gearing ratio, and are completely self sufficient. money is available year on year to compete in the transfer market. i personally think moores, so far has done a fantastic job, and why some people seem hell bent on ousting him, i have simply no idea
  13. its going to be practically impossible to find an investor who cares more about teh club than making a profit
  14. he should have got down on his knees and headed it in
  15. could be where i am then

  17. its not fair, other teams are having to play 4 games in 8 days. i wouldnt put it past Bolton to be doing it on purpose as they have a small squad and want to spread the games out a bit, and they now i have an excuse because of the weather
  18. i'm not going into town after unless its a house party. Town on New Years Eve is s****. if the Oakie is open i might even stay there. wont the RAWK crowd come the Oakie
