Does that mean the board can still sanction the sale even with the challenge to both CP & IA? Could it be that the guy from Bloomberg is on the money, they have accepted the bid and are moving along with the process? I know its a very glass half full way of thinking but I could do with a bit of that tonight!

Also, does the legal challenge prevent RBS from calling in the loan, it would obviously stop the club being sold before then.

Agree, but we have been questioning and doubting whether it was true or not...I wonder if the reason G&H havent challenged MB was because him being instilled was part of the last refinancing deal?

Not imo, its a clear statement from the board saying they are working against the owners.

It all comes down to if G&H can oust CP & IA, if so then I think we are royally screwed as they will look to refinance secured against club assets. If they are unsuccesful then you would think that the current board will approve the sale to one of the bids (if they exist). Exactly, they wanted it out in the open...all the negative press directed at MB, IA & CP...they have come out and said "we are not the bad guys and do actually want to sell the club"

It all comes down to whether they can do it legally or not, can G&H oust CP & IA from the board? I would think this would only be possible if they were seen not to be acting in the best interest of the club...or more importantly the shareholders who in this case are H&G, but i am not sure if its in the best interest of club. The matter is definitely not sorted - it requires a legal ruling as to whether IA and CP can be ousted or not

Yes, the reason H&G are trying to get rid of IA and CP is because they are going to vote for the sale. CP doesnt have many fans on here but it does appear he is trying to do the right thing atm.

The question is can they oust two members of the board, what type of approval do you need for that to happen? Can the other members of the board veto any such request? If they are challenging two members can they contest this? Or is it down to the members who are not under threat...ie Hicks, Gillette and MB

Good point, though Dan Roan was tweeting earlier that he had heard there was no chance re RBS refinancing. I reckon they will get an extension from RBS, I guess that wouldnt count as a refinance...

If RBS reposess then H&G wouldnt own the club any more so therefore imo they have no rights to dictate/veto the sale. I agree re the timing of the bids and it does seem very suspect. Why bid now when they could buy at a fraction of the price in 10 days? Are they hoping to take advantage of the pressure, give G&H an opportunity for them to make there money back without all the RBS overhead and paperwork?

Thats what pisses me off, every time MB talked to the press about the sale he stated that the board could accept a bid without the approval of H&G...thats obviously b****x otherwise we would have been sold already.

Agree - especially the bit about what MB & CP want to see in the press especially if the rumours re MB resigning are true...gives him his get out, i found two buyers but they werent accepted by H&G. Not that fits in with everything he has said about the board having ultimate control on whether a bid is accepted or not.

On R5 now - Board meeting today, Independant board of a mind to accept one of the bids, H&G dont want to accept the bids as they will walk away with no profit at all. Dan Roan sceptical whether its the beginning of the end or not, know v little about the bids or how much they are for. Important to bear in mind that its in the interests of CP & MB that there are bidders out there...not sure what to believe. Confirmed that the deadline is the 15th.

Yes Roy you have 35 years experience but in all of those 35 years you won absolutely nothing (of any note) and it just serves to remind us of how mediocre your record is and how unwilling you are to change something thats not working.

Thats what i think, I didnt want Kenny - I dont want memories of him tarnished or for him to be perceived as being part of the problem with the owners. But currently its the only choice until we are sold, it really cant get much worse than it is atm so he has nothing to lose.

I agree, its not nice and I dont like seeing him being ripped apart in the press but he is not good enough.
