I have just watched the game, I am sure its been discussed to death but....some thoughts: Reina - Whats to say, little to do but made some great saves when called upon Kelly - Really great performance, some really good runs and strong in the tackle, looks defensively sound Carra - Distribution poor, hoof, but defensively solid Agger - Thought he looked great, just hope he can stay fit! Enrique - Was great, definite MOM for me - exactly what we need at LB Lucas - Did reasonably well, a little sloppy at times I did get the feeling that he is suffering because of Adam's presence in midfield Adam - Some good play, but looked laboured, gave the ball away too much and sloppy imo, really poor first touch at times Downing - Another good performance, tidy and ran the wings well, some good crosses which should have been converted, looking pacier than expected Hendo - Tidy in posession, if i am honest not sure what he adds..adds little cutting edge, I honestly think he is there keeping Gerrards place warm Kuyt - Had one of those games, sloppy, didnt really do much but I had thought he would score today Carrol - Another average performance, he is definitely looking trim but he needs to get involved more, too much standing around and getting frustrated Subs: Raul & Suarez, the two of them (Suarez more of course) really added a spark to our play, I just love watching Suarez play the intelligence and flair is all to see. It was also good to see Raul get some game time, I would start him ahead of either Adam or Henderson Other musings: I know Arsenal were down to 10 and tiring, but we looked a different side without Carrol on the pitch, Raul & Suarez added a much needed spark. Positive signs in Enrique and Downing, Agger being fit, Kelly looking great at RB. This is a continuing trend and the way we play with Carrol off the pitch is so much more fluid and inventive, its just too easy to either hit it long or cross it and hope Carrol gets on the end of it. I know its a negative on what is a great result but its frustrating, the change in the way we play with and without Carrol is like night and day. I hope its a fitness thing, and regardless of his price tag he needs to show us all that he is good enough to be a striker at LFC!
