A fully fit and firing Torres would be immense, tbh anyone is better than Andy Caroll, footy fans are a fickle bunch and I would have him back - all would be forgotten when he netted a couple of times.

Re point 2 - so he is saying (based on facts or otherwise) that it was Kenny that pushed the "buy English" policy last year and will be doing the same this summer if given the opportunity? Surely the owners and DC would be a little wary of this...plus DC does have a record for buying overpriced english players. Anyways as others have said, blame is pointless atm they are both accountable and the owners need to decide what to do about it...I personally (and I will probably get burned for this) believe that we need a change, we have look clueless so many times this season its unreal.

You joke about that, but I am sure there was some truth in the Darren Bent rumours...if thats not stat driven then I dont what is. Another average journeyman they seemed to be "really" considering. Its been said before but DC can say all he likes that Kenny makes the final decision, they Kenny, DC and Clarke are accountable for the s**** we bought over the summer - any shirking of this by DC is him trying to save his a***. As we edge closer to the end of the season I am expecting some maneuvering from DC, I am sure we will start to see alot more of the "Kenny makes the final decision" line in the press a whole lot more. BTW of this summers buys only Enrique (good player who has had a dip in form), Coates (young and lots of potential) can be classed as ok, tbh even Adam at £6m isnt too bad as a squad player. Downing and Henderson - £40million...thats what gets me, unbelievable as for Caroll "panic panic panic".

One of the issues we have had all season is a lack of players in the box, having another player to occupy defenders is creating space and allowing us to create more chances. At the moment its Caroll, but it could be another player. You could play Caroll as the lead striker (though his lack of movement would be a serious issue), it would only work if he was able to hold the ball up and we had willing runners either side (Luis and Kuyt perhaps?) but that takes me back to my first point. If were going to play one up front then our midfield need to get into the box and provide options, no one with the exception of Gerrard (when he is not having to babysit the midfield) does that regularily.

With the way Carrol is being played (or not), I reckon we have already decided to sell him - doesnt look like he has a future at the club. I am not his biggest fan but he has improved in the last 3-4 games and though he doesnt provide a threat he does link up quite well with Luis and Gerrard, as others have said he also occupies defenders and creates more space for others. I am not a fan - but we may as well play him for the last few games and see what happens, we may even win a few!

Agree with all of the above re Newcastle, they have spent there millions (which we were only too happy to give to them!) wisely - bought good players which they will sell on at a profit. FFS you know things are bad when your looking at Newcastle thinking we should be doing something like that (re buying the right players!).
