He can play both. Apparently, at only 70% fit he was still the quickest plaayer at the club and that is including Cisse.

He's had few bad ganes lately, and all in all not that good a season. He looks tired to me. It's quite a common thing though, an excellent foreign footballer comes over, has a great first season and has a dip in the second one.

After what happened with Morientes I can't see Rafa going back to Spain for another big name striker. It will be an Englishman IMO.

Regardless of all that has gone on in the past with Owen, Defoe isn't fit to lace Owen's boots. They are not even on the same planet as players. Defoe is overrated IMO.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Defoe is all that? An to take a £10 million loss on Cisse? Let's just hope he has a great World Cup a la Baros in the Euros. Sell him to Marseille and get more money for him and then buy Owen back. Looks like we could be on the threshold of another "nearly" summer then.

That's why we HAD to buy someone for RM as playing Gerrard there is a wastem no matter how good he is, as he should always play CM attacking the box. It's a waste.

If Cisse had a great game on the right and Kewell has a great game on the left, and Xabi had a great game in the middle, HTF did we manage only 1/2 goalscoring chances in 90 minutes?

In a nutshell. Until they start releasing cash, we haven't got a fecking chance of challenging Chelsea. Only money talks nowadays if you want to make a sustained challenge for the titlew. You need a big powerful sqaud to challenge Cheslea, and we're probably 4 top class players short. That's about 30 million probably.
