  4. Bridge yes, Defoe no.
  5. That was exactly my thoughts.
  6. Yes, indeed it did, as did the feck off Cheelsea FC song. Like I said, for 30 minutes it was a right good day out.
  7. I thought it was pretty good yesterday from where I was in the Upper tier. Tailed off a bit in the second half but all in all pretty good. In fact, the first half an hour was great fun.
  8. 60 or 70 you mean.
  9. And another thing - that fecking Mourinho after they had scored their 2nd goal. He can right to the edge of his technical area and just stood there arms folded just staring at the Liverpool fans for about 30 seconds looking smug. God, I hate him.
  10. I said on another post that I though Chelsea bullied us yesterday and looked like they wanted it more. How many 50/50's did we (especially Riise) come out second in or not even go in for. That's the really disappointing part for me yesterday.
  11. Arsenal didn't.
  12. I thought Xabi should have done. They were a lot stronger than us yesterday and seemed to bully us all over the pitch. It was one thing we were lacking yesterday. I'm not sure the belief was there yesterday.
  13. That'll be the end of anyone harbouring thoughts of Owen coming back then. 10-12 million for Defoe or 12 million for Owen. As much as I dislike him for what he did in the past, which one is the better striker would for me be a no-brainer - and seeing as I don't have one that's quite handy.
  14. I'm only repeating exactly what Rafa said.
  15. And there you have it in a nutshell! First teamers please Rafa.
  16. Look at the money coming in from transfers. Rafa himself dsaid if we had not sold Owen then Garcia and Alondso would not have been able to have been purchased. Add this to the pot of cash made from winning the CL and then look at the figures. Hardly big spenders are we.
  17. It reminded me of being at Twickenham. It's been a long time since I've dirtied my feet there, but my lad wanted to go so I bit the bullet. The one thjing I noticed was how their normal crowd had been watered down by a load of toffs singing along to the orchestrated Chelsea song to what was I think The Birdie Song before the match. WTF was all that about? They should be ashamed of themselves but no doubt are not. All in all I quite enjoyed the day until they scored. Good banter, but the they get nasty and stupid and we were six seat from them so it wasn't much fun. They do however get annoyed at the 5 times and Istanbul dongs don't they, and my lad was well chuffed to learn the "Chelsea" song, without the first two words of course. I didn't see any trouble afterwards, but the amount of posh voices about mixed in with the obviouis chavs was quite surprising. All in all, I fecking hate the place, we never get a result there, and as for that you're s**t song and that's why we;'re champions because they scored a scruffy goal from a corner. Oh,a dn did Lampard play? Mosst overrated player in the hostory of history.
  18. Stop gap for what thoug that is the big question. I for one have no confidence that we will stump up the cash for what is really needed. ie a top class striker and right midfielder and maybe event a left back. We haven't managed to do it for the last two summers and the last transfer window so why should we be confident that we'll find the money in the summer?

  20. Sorry Anny, but unless you've lost the use of your ears, are you telling me, both home and away, that you don't get people voicing the same sort of nonsense at the match as you have got in this thread coz you do.

  22. Then we miss out on what could be the next English superstar. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but if you don't get yourself on a level playing field then you won't be able to compete for these players.
  23. If that is what they are banking on then they are heading for a fall. Highbury wasn't full before Wenger, and when Wenger finally ups sticks and the dynasty falls aprt, they will end up with a half/three quarter full stadium.
  24. What is the "right price" though? Are you not cutting off your nose to spite your face by not agreeing to pay a bit extra for someone you really want? If we had done this previously we may have a RM by now, instead of having to play the best midfielder in Europe on the right as we have no-one else who can competently fill in.
  25. It is very depressing that we can't seem to be in the hunt for someone like Walcott. With all the financial restraints Arsenal have, they can stump uop this sort of cash but we can't? Why?
