  1. For the brief period we have the ball it would be nice if we didn’t hoof it straight to their keeper
  2. We’ve got enough holes at the back without adding another one.
  3. In the old days people would help those who were vulnerable or who were being bullied and victimised. These days this is apparently a source of entertainment for people to watch and participate in. What a f***ed up world we now live in.
  4. He hasn’t been killing elephants has he?
  5. And at centre back
  6. I suppose the only leverage the club has depends on whether he really wants to be in the French WC squad. If we bring in a replacement then Konate potentially risks not getting enough game time with us.
  7. Yeah he played for 60 minutes and scored for the u21’s on Monday in the 4-2 defeat at Leicester.
  8. Undoubtedly not but Newcastle would want to avoid the threat of it. Howe has also been a bit weird with his comments from the off with this saga so I wonder if he’s trying to distance himself a bit from the clubs official line.
  9. He signed a contract to do some work, he didn’t sign a prison sentence. Either party will be able to terminate the contract but there will be penalty clauses on either side. If he was promised his contract would either be renegotiated or he could leave then he could go down the legal route. Newcastle say there were no such agreements but Staveley seems to be the one who was doing the initial discussions so there must have been something in place. She presumably signed an nda when she left Newcastle but this doesn’t prevent her giving evidence in any legal proceedings.
  10. It’s really hard to reason with a club that’s so badly run and delusional. He could force the issue by handing in a transfer request but presumably he won’t as he’ll be foregoing whatever he’s owed on his current contract. Presumably if he stays and plays up / doesn’t turn up for training etc then he won’t be paid either and Newcastle will still need to bring in a replacement. Why did Staveley and her replacement leave the club? Don’t remember seeing any official reasons. I guess Staveley would know everything that was said and agreed with Isak.
  11. That’s got to be hugely tempting. I guess if he doesn’t extend his contract and we sign Guehi then he may find his playing time this season really limited which may compromise his place in the French squad for the WC.
  12. Newcastle themselves have got rid of players when the player didn’t really want to leave. I think even Andy Carroll was basically pushed out of the door for the money we offered for him.
  13. Maybe Gophish and wait ‘til apia to see if something comes to mind
  14. We’ve still got more points than the Mancs and Everton combined
  15. Of course he’s not crap. He was a reliable mainstay in a really good Bournemouth side last season. He’s 21 playing with new teammates in what was an overly open setup last night and was probably trying a bit too hard in front of his old teammates. It might take a bit of time but he’ll be good.
  16. That little Owl is relentless to be fair and you can’t let those triple XP boosts go to waste when you get them. Konate has been prone to these type of performances before (more so with France) so hopefully it’s just a temporary blip before he returns to his normal impervious self.
  17. That looked a pretty tough gig for him tonight. So pleased he scored and was able to celebrate.
  18. Yeah he didn’t ’middle it’ but it went exactly where he aimed it. Thankfully it went straight into the onion bag thing.
  19. Oh man, it was the best last 5 minutes of the season so far too.
  20. There’s just no need for us to be so open.
