Whilst the fullbacks have been disappointing this season, I can’t help but think the main issue is with midfield because that’s where our moves repeatedly peter out. Mo hasn’t got the legs anymore, we didn’t replace Diaz and the rest of them play as individuals cluttering up the middle with no effective movement.

Yeah his stats overall look decent but they went through a spell of drawing games they were expected to win. He was also constantly messing with tactics which ended up confusing and frustrating the players. It didn’t help that he was young and relatively inexperienced yet had a massive know-it-all arrogance. He split opinion amongst the Bayern fanbase before he signed for them and continues to do so. Some fans think he shouldn’t have been sacked at the point he was whilst others couldn’t wait to see the back of him. He certainly livened the place up though.

Nagelsmann does setup to play more dynamic football than Tuchel but he also managed to piss off the fans, board and some of the players at Bayern with his antics and inconsistent results. Not sure he’s really suited for us really.

Yeah they may all be crap but it’s a bit of a coincidence there suddenly isn’t one of them with enough potential to bring through when we had a constant trickle and presence of them when Jurgen was here.

It’s not even the academy lads getting game time with the first team, it’s the lack of them even being brought through to sit on the bench to get the experience of being around the first team on match day that’s a bit concerning - especially when we’ve had 2 keepers sitting on the bench to make up the numbers.

I felt a bit of a quiver of excitement reading that and thinking back to how we used to play. We were bloody good at that stuff.

Following Glasner to Utd

Yeah I mentioned similar yesterday. The rare occasion that we did press the supporting players were all over the place. That kind of thing should be coached and drilled at the training ground.

Wirtz did look offside but it is always mentioned that you should ignore the grass cut stripes on the pitch because they haven’t been put there with accurate measurements.

We’ve been appalling all season. I highly suspect the result today would have been the same had we been at full strength. We’ve been making the same mistakes and playing the same way. Maybe the issue is the philosophy and the application of it.

That’s the spirit! Now get to UPS to post your parcels

It would have helped if we’d have pushed out to stop him having so much time to pick his spot and leather it

That was a proper screamer of a goal

Howler of a defensive mistake but I’ll take it!

That was a cracking goal

c***yf***up?

At least our players will be fresh for the 2nd half

I’m starting to think this wasn’t all down to the set piece coach

When we do press we’re not doing it as a unit so we’re easy to pass around

That’s an example of what happens when players make runs and move the ball fast.

Think we only got rid of him because of his lack of pace. He’d fit right in with us now.

All the stuff we were good at has gone. Watching us now is like watching a really poor version of City in previous seasons. Our version however is even more insipid, ineffective and mistake laden. It’s been like this all season and nothing has improved.

Even he was getting irritated that he had nobody to throw to as they were all marked and not moving.

Yeah the Danish guy. Think he was with us for a few years. Cracking gig that.

Our set pieces have been abysmal in both attack and defence but do we also have a coach responsible for the slow, turgid football we’ve been playing because that’s where we have a bigger problem.
