Voronin will replace Fowler and Crouch will be sold that leaves Kuyt, Bellamy, Voronin and Eto'o... i reckon if we sell Bellers, Iaquinta will be brought in... otherwise we'll be fine with that the positive thing is that Rafa knows this and with our gradual improvement, this was the best time for us to receive investment
-
read what i wrote the post above that's the simple answer
-
We are an Eto'o and Iaquinta away from winning the title. We have the quality in our squad but not the game-changers in the final 3rd of the pitch that can take one and only one chance when it comes.. our strikers work hard to involve the team, but we lack the critical finisher
-
Alonso will score his share of goals when Mascherano becomes more of a mainstay in CM
-
I think Torres is where Eto'o used to be in his Mallorca days... anybody agree?
-
i see a lot of alonso's defensive work in him... i think they'll complement each other a lot... i was even having trouble telling the difference between them in our third when he was winning the ball
-
We have a 'genus or protozoa' on our squad? i dont know what that means but one rule in life: don't question Google
-
Mother Theresa? Is that you?
-
According to the clip I saw, I guess he's actually Morientes
-
I'll be different... Arbeloa Momo Finnan Arbeloa was excellent and neutralized Messi. I believe Riise was more at fault for their goal. For his first game, he was superb. Momo was simply Momo while Finnan did well against Ronaldinho and put in a fabulous cross for Bellamy's goal.
-
SH*T i didn't consider this in my tactics... PAKO!?
-
MOM: 1. Arbeloa: absolute quality performance 2. Finnan: excellent crosses and neutalized Ronaldinho after the first 10 minutes 3. Sissoko: do I have to explain? EDIT: Arbeloa for 2M may be as great a purchase as Sissoko in the long run.

if its his younger brother and they're both under 18, we should try to bring them both over
-
what's the story with Vicente? haven't heard about him in a while... he was ace a couple years ago what happened to him? him, Villa and Alves would put us over the top... you need players in the final third that can do that little extra something to make the goal
-
"Gillette the best a club can get" would be amusing but tacky... the Hick would get left out as well any ideas?
-
Replace Aurelio and Bellamy with Gonzalez and Crouch and that's the lineup me thinks... Gonzalez played well in Spain I think he'll start... Crouch gives us the height advantage... replace Crouch with Mascherano in midfield if he's ready in a 4-2-3-1
-
Sorry friend it should be Pepe Reina (Christobal Huet) Steve Finnan (Mathieu Dandenault) / Jamie Carragher (Sheldon Souray) / Daniel Agger (Mike Komisarek) / JA Riise (Andrei Markov) Jermaine Pennant (Michael Ryder) / Steven Gerrard (Mike Johnson) / Xabi Alonso (Radek Bonk) / Roger Clemens (Alexander Perezhogin) Dirk Kuyt (Alexei Kovalev) / Peter Crouch (Saku Koivu)

i'd say 5 years ago it's been dragging on for a while
-
a former Manc seems to be helping us here by raising the profile of 'soccer' in the US... if we do in fact open academies in the US, they'd become pretty popular
-
dude where's VDV?

i would choose DIC strictly from a marketing perspective... they would be able to create a global Liverpool brand, something I think Gillet will be unable to do or do ineffectively... this is from living in Canada my whole life and supporting the Canadiens for 20 years
-
Being from Canada and supporting the Canadiens for about 20 years, hockey is a completely different sport and the financial muscle of an owner, while important in terms of the financial security of the team, does very little from a fan's perspective. Football is a completely different story - a Roman Abromovich type can spend countless millions on transfer fees while in hockey transfers are performed via trades. The recent salary cap in hockey also makes it much more complicated as salaries theoretically have to match up. There is an added pressure of playing in Montreal, which is the most successful franchise in the history of the league, and affects the decisions of top quality players playing in the city as the press dissects your every move. As Montreal is in Quebec, the tax is also higher, while you're also dealing in Canadian vs. American salaries - all of these things affect the team. Around the time Gillet took over the Canadiens, the team moved into a new hockey arena. Beyond that and the ability of a team to support a team near the salary cap is really the only thing a fan sees in relation to the ownership of the team. The team on the ice is affected more by salaries and players desire to play in an intense city like Montreal than the quality of your owner. Owners also rarely make statements on behalf of the team - there are General Managers and Head Coaches for that. Whoever your Montreal Canadiens fan is, he seems extremely naive to think that he can even relate the two sports. I will say though that from a global marketing perspective, DIC would conceivably be miles and miles beyond Gillet, although as I said, the sports are completely different and marketing in hockey would be more on a North American scale so its hard to really say. Montreal also does not need marketing as it already known as the mecca of hockey. Montral is in Quebec and Canadian is spelled with an 'e' in French.

you would have thought we'd have had all the paper work ready in case we were given the go ahead... we were waiting quite a while for the FIFA decision
