Think he'll get a relatively long ban personally - probably as long or longer than anything FIFA have dished out. Hopefully not worldwide... In any case the chances are he does this again sooner or later. If it's while he's still with us in England I think he'd get a Ferdinand/Cantona length ban from the FA

Should be right up Steve Peter's street to be honest given his background. It's obviously only a matter of time before it happens again unless Suarez engages in some way with the problem. Assuming he's still here I hope the club insist that he engages with Peters or someone similar.

Medical Saturday, apparently

Not sure we'd go for Mario even if it looked viable. I've not seen him much in Italy but my memory of him here is he's not the pressing type which is pretty crucial to how we play. That plus the manager is always naming on about versatility and tactical intelligence. The former isn't his strong point and the latter doesn't strike me as a strength of his either. Enormous talent though, obviously.

Am absolutely not in favour of competition at goalkeeper. I think you pick and back one you think is good enough and get experienced competition in. I have some reservation on Mig (kicking and starting the play, sweeping, dominating the box, helping organise his defenders etc) but he makes incredible saves and I'd say improving on him would be lowish down the list of priorities for me at the moment.

Personally I doubt any of the core players that formed our league campaign will go. In other words I think that the 11 that started vs Newcastle plus Coutinho, Lucas, Sakho will all stay. I think almost everybody outside that could go and we'll bring in about 5, hopefully all at the sort of level of those core players - ideally the better end of the spectrum.

Personally I think having genuine competition at goalkeeper usually just means that neither is quite good enough - can't think of many top sides who've ever really had competition there. I'm in favour of getting a good one and sticking with him. For the back up I'd go very experienced but coming up to the end of their career.

Think it'd be a good bit more than that.

I like the fact that he announced the squad from a vauxhall factory in Luton. He probably negotiated a couple of free services on the corsa while he was at it.
