  1. He’s absolutely brilliant, playing quicker now he’s obviously getting used to the speed of the English game. Now Konate has sorted his head out we look great down the middle from back to front. Need two fast wide players and we could be devastating, Mo is clearly on his way down and Gakpo is woeful. I thibk he’ll go but money aside I’d like to keep Mo as an option, he’s still very clever and I think could score a lot of goals with someone better on the other wing, a regular RB behind him and being rotated so getting some rest. If he wants to see out his contract and we get the team right he could end up with a beautiful swan song.
  2. Wirtz though - absolute masterclass tonight. Now looking at this team and imagining how good it could be with two flying wingers. Gakpo was abysmal as he has been all season despite having loads of openings. He needs replacing, he just looks awful..
  3. Convinced Jurgen would have this group of players top of the league. Punching way below their ability.
  4. Yeah we got all his best days, although he had some moments either side. He had everything talent wise.
  5. The Atalanta comment didn’t sound great, but can forgive based on how gracious and keen to recognise Jurgen’s contribution he was last season. I think we have looked far better without Konate, not just due to his defensive blunders but how poor his passing is. He chews it, then passes it backwards or sideways and is a big reason we move the ball so slowly. He’s the anti Matip who was a big part of our attacking play by driving forward and passing forward positively. Trent going has really exposed this weakness. Other teams literally set up to make sure he gets the ball as much as possible. Yet he’ll inevitably come back in.
  6. He’d probably cut into the crowd and try to shoot.
  7. Stevie, although a hugely exciting footballer, plays a really boring brand of football as a manager so no ta.
  8. Yeah his subs are scattergun and often seem to make us worse. Just end up with loads of players out of position.
  9. We look like we have lots of talent but are poorly organised, lacking in confidence and underperforming. We concede over and over from set pieces. That is all coaching, it’s damning for Slot.
  10. Guehi is really good and I wanted him but he’s not £300k a week good. Not sure any CB in the world bar peak Virgil is worth that kind of money.
  11. Matip was my favourite of that lot, wish he’d have been injured less. VVD and Gomez were brilliant together in the Jurgen title win.
  12. Our more patient football under Slot is clearly better suited to European football than the PL so being optimistic we might do alright in the CL this season. How joyous it was not to have Konate doing mad things and unsettling everyone. He was good last season but has been atrocious this season, he thinks he should be getting £300k a week but hasn’t wanted to show it. Looked throughout like his head has been elsewhere. Let’s see Gomez given a run there until he gets injured, Virge has always liked playing with Joe. Then just ABK.
  13. Klopp’s Liverpool used to win the ball in those areas and swarm upfield at pace, devastating on the counter attack, wingers and full backs. Those were the days! Missing Jurgen was put on hold for a year, but with the type of football we are playing now that feeling is strong.
  14. There was absolutely f*ck all in front of Dom in those instances though? What’s he supposed to do just boot it upfield aimlessly? This team lacks ball carriers and pace, that’s what those clips show.

  18. Hahaha - bet he wrapped himself up in his blankie soon as he got home and muttered.
  19. There was something really irritating about Lovren’s general demeanour. Keita was one of the most disappointing signings ever in terms of expectations to results and he was constantly out with questionable injuries.
  20. Collymore and Lovren (and his blankie) would be in the conversation for me. Keita possibly.
  21. In the words of that kid in the milk advert….Exactly!
  22. Which is a mad stat as we’ve been battered in the air this season and it has been a weakness. I guess it shows how much teams are targeting us aerially.
  23. He’s still very young for a CB and Spurs are a shambles. I really like him as a player but the injuries are an issue. For what they’d want for him the injuries probably make it a non starter.
  24. Van De Ven seems gettable in the summer, he’d be my dream signing if we could install him with titanium hamstrings.
  25. ‪He’s been good last couple of games, but was an absolute shambles previously and I think he’s been a big part of our poor season. Talk today that he is off. His improvement in form actually highlights just how much he was unsettling everyone before. We looked solid at Arsenal.
