What was all that about? Unless someone can tell me Kewell was injured, that would have to go down as one of the strangest substitutions of all time. Garcia started well, but as the game went on got worse and worse. He gave the ball away countless times in the second half, and created very little, wheras at least Kewell was stretching them by sticking to the touchline and having a run with it. Don't know what was going through Rafa's head there...

Er, sorry to break this up folks but it was Robert who was getting booed, presumably because he said he could have come to us but chose not to...

My reply was directed more at Ziggy to be honest Si, who told me to get off my high horse...

I'm not on my high horse at all - I just don't feel its right to leave early. I've left one game early in 20 years going to the match. I was sat in the Everton end at Goodison Park when Graeme Stuart made it 2-0 to them in injury time in the 90s; the schite fans went mad, and I did one. I've had places to go after the game, long trips home and the weather has been bad. I've seen some shocking performances as well, but at the end of the day, however well the players perform I feel I should be there at the end purely out of respect to them and the club. Sorry if it offends you, but thats the way I feel about it, simple as that.

Get me his address - and I'll send him some flowers... And John Terry is completely rock solid as a defender in my opinion, as well as being a serious threat at set-pieces into the bargain. How often do you see him make a mistake for God's sake? If it was a court case the evidence you could provide to prove Terry to be over-rated would be pretty flimsy... I don't like the t*** either, but I can admit he's quality.

Ronaldinho showed immense power to shrug Terry's body-check off the way he did - illustrates to me that he would have been as good in England as he's proved to be in Spain. I've actually seen some people call him lightweight - which now they'll see he most certainly isn't. He'll go on to become one of the all-time greats of the game if he can add a good World Cup to his achievements at club level; he is THE player of our generation, the talent that stands clearly out above all others. Thank f*** for Peter Kenyon messing PSG about...

I agree they've got two top-class centre-halves, but for me neither one of them is Carvalho. Playing Gallas anywhere but in the centre is completely mad, surely they've got enough money to be able to play their best players in their best positions. He's one of the best in the game for me. Carvalho on the other hand IMO, is a complete dog. If officials paid more attention off corners, he'd give away a penalty off every one. He's slow, stupid and generally not close to being of the standard I'd expect from a £16m defender. I was waiting for that Matty...

To answer the original question - Mourinho was my second choice after Rafa, although being totally truthful there was very little in it and I would have been happy with either. 'The Special One' really doesn't bother me even now though to be honest. Needless to say of course I'd take Rafa every time and I'd totally agree in hindsight Mourinho isn't a 'Liverpool man', but he doesn't wind me up the way he seems to most. He talks a lot of crap, and is bordering on deluded in his assessments of situations and decisions in games, but as far as I'm concerned he's not the Liverpool manager and if he wants to make himself look daft, let him get on with it...

Impressive - sticking to the original topic and using a foreign language. A big from me for that one Stuff. All I can say is we all must all be boursin b*stards with nothing better to do...

I went to Uni in Leeds and travelled back and forth every now and again for the weekend. With no traffic I've done it in just over an hour before to be honest, and that was in an E reg Vauxhall Cavalier which would only go over 80 on a downhill slope, so it wasn't like I was doing a ton all the way. It's more like 65 - 70 miles and all motorway. I really have no idea why the hell I'm joining in a conversation about how far much further a player we haven't even been linked with yet would have to travel home if he came to us, but there you go...

Fig and his 'reverse christmas tree' formations...

I predict Barca will leave Chelsea in a Messi, and I'll enjoy every last minute of it. 3-1 Barca after Chelsea take an early lead through Lampard; Eto'o to score twice with Messi poetically finishing the job.

I'm Brian, so is my wife, and we're both Liverpool fans... Seriously though, I've never known a Liverpool pub make other Liverpool supporters unwelcome for not being from the city, I'm sure even though tomorrow will be my first time in the Oakie, speaking as a local that you'd be more than welcome.

We're edamned now - EDAMNED I TELL YOU!

You heard it here first - from the poster whose gut brought you 'Kewell to have a rennaissance' before the start of this season. Just got a strong gut feeling about this one. Hope I'm right - I've been critical of the lad myself, but there's no doubting his talent and attitude. A big goal in a big game like that could give him the boost he needs.
-
Yeah mate - going to get away from work about 4:30 in Manchester, train from Oxford Road is at 4:43 so should be back to Widnes Station about 5:15, and could have you picked up from yours about 5:30 for arrival in the Oakie 6-6:15. Whether things run as smoothly as that is a different matter of course... Let me know asap what you're doing cuz.

Called Cassius as Djibs can't trap a bag of clay... Seriously though - congratulations to him and his Mrs.

Amazes me how often Eusebio is left off people's all time great list - its crazy. I'd have him in my first eleven let alone a big squad like those. 317 goals in 301 Portuguese league games, and led Benfica to triumph over Di Stefano's great Madrid side. Watch the footage on the man in the 1966 finals - incredible. 9 goals in 6 matches to go with some stunning speed and skill, and people saying Maradona took Argentina to the world cup almost single-handed want to watch him in '66, dragging Portugal through in similar fashion to the semis until they were beaten by England. Other names which would be included in my squad list and haven't been mentioned are John Charles, Bobby Charlton, Graeme Souness and Raimond Kopa.
