  1. If I have a "ZZ voodoo doll", on this evidence you have an inflatable. I like Zidane as a player, who wouldn't? I never said I didn't. I called him a loser last night for being sent off, extremely foolishly, in a world cup final, that couldve ended his career on a high. I don't like the french team very much, and I was drunkenly enjoying the schadenfreude, there's no need to get personal with me. If materazzi said something racist, as it has automatically been assumed, then he is a prick, but until you know what he said, why are you so quick to dismiss him as being of bad character? In fact there seems to be a tinge of racism to the negative attitude towards the Italian players anyway. Stereotypes of dishonest, crooked etc. Either way, whatever he said, this kind of thing goes on in every single important game, and Zidane was experienced enough not to react, do you think no insults were headed in the opposite direction during the game? Italy deserved to win, and that every report is full of french sour grapes is really pissing me off.
  2. think about it, what could he have said? it has been assumed in all quarters that it was a racist remark, why? and what kind of catchy racist remark would an italian know, in french or english, about french algerians, that would provoke such a reaction? And in a country as racist as france, would it really be enough? he could've just called him "baldy" for all we know.
  3. What did he say?
  4. I really don't understand the sympathy for Zidane. If that headbutt had been on Gerrard or Carragher, what would we be saying here?
  5. new definition to "most valuable player" gave away penalty scored equalizer got opposition captain sent off
  6. Who f***ing cares what was said? to lose it like that means Zidane was not the model professional he was constantly made out to be. He got himself sent off, stupidly, and his team lost the trophy, deservedly. f*** him, loser. Who knows what excuses the french will come up with for this? "he called me a big fat algerian silly".

  9. But when some, by your own admission, "very good sub appearances" are almost all the opportunities he has had, surely he must be judged on that evidence? If he wants to be a first 11 player somewhere else, fine, if he's prepared to fight for his place, he is worth having in the squad as he offers something different than any of our current strikers doesn't get paid much, and wouldn't be worth much in terms of fee if we sold him.
  10. But now we've signed Pennant, Kuyt and Van der Vaart, what else is there to talk about?
  11. I think its okay, it should use the tri-line numbering and bauhaus font. It would be improved immeasurably by a suitable badge. I wasn't of the opinion that the green detail, gates etc were part of the hillsborough tribute, only the flame. the mockup someone posted with the liverbird with football (which is not an issue of trademark) and the eternal flame, was spot on.
  12. So you wouldn't even admit he contributed, crucially, to our trophies the last 2 seasons, "someone else would have scored those goals anyway" perhaps? Not good enough for what? to be a 4th or 5th striker, off the bench, give me a break.
  13. I'm not only talking about goals, he was a good impact sub, regardless of whether he scored. My point was when we will get nothing for fee and save very little on wages, why are people so eager to get rid?

  20. Mauro Camoranesi is a current example of an 'oriundi'
  21. I really wish I was still going to be here for it, it will be an insane party, god knows what it would be like in Naples, 10 times more extreme I'd expect. I was not only deemed a lucky mascot (how that is possible as an english citizen is beyond me), but a gang of crazies were shouting 'Gattuso' at me in the street (??!!?!) They have made the riff from 'seven nation army' their crowd anthem, thanks to Totti, who when asked what his favourite song was on a TV interview, replied "i dont know what its called, the one that goes 'pow popopopo pow pow, pow popopopo pow pow....." They even used Frankies 'the power of love' as their pre-match montage music on Rai Uno, therefore there can be no doubt that the force is with Italy this year
  22. my camera was out of power so i couldnt get any clips of my own but, as expected, youtube delivered: mad b******s, god help them if they win:
  23. Indeed, if that was the case the selling clubs would be laughing.
