  1. Yep, I read we did come in for him at the last minute but he had already agreed to the Arsenal move. Shame, he's exactly what we need.
  2. That may all be true but we were doing fine until we scored. Up to that point we had been dominating possession and City didn't get a look in. Then our objective seemed to change and we went defensive. Tevez coming on from them also made a difference.
  3. I didn't watch the match on Sky but from what I saw Ireland looked slightly behind the ball as it was played.
  4. Bringing players back into position is fine, my problem is when teams camp inside their own half and make no effort whatsoever to go out and play. Is that the most effective way to keep a result? Why not continue doing what put you in front in the first place? So often you see teams dominate a match, go a goal up, then retreat and invite pressure. When they eventually get the ball back, because the play is so congested, they have no outfield option so have to hoof it long which just surrenders possession again and the cycle continues. Just too risky a policy for me.
  5. Sorry but that's absolute nonsense. One of the best ways to keep the opposition at bay is to keep hold of the ball. City didn't get a sniff until we handed it to them.
  6. Which decision was that. . .the Ireland goal?
  7. We played well and should have won but when you give up goals as easily as we have recently, it's no surprise we're struggling. This set play vulnerability has been there for quite a while now, it concerning that no progress has been made to remedy the situation.
  8. I don't think we were unlucky to be honest. No doubt we were the better team but a combination of poor finishing and poor defending cost us, nothing unlucky about that.
  9. Penalty? ....surely not the tackle on Carrick - he dived in a bit but I thought he got some of the ball.
  10. Fantastic win, thoroughly deserved ..delighted for Rafa. What was happening with the ref? He gave them absolutely everything after the break, Ferguson must've had a quick word at half time.
  11. Cracking YNWA being belted out Come on lads
  12. Yep, he played well - put in some good crosses aswell.

    This season

Rafa? It's a shame on the lad but he's clearly out of his depth.

    I cry

Bored with it at this satge
  15. Maybe Poulsen and Aquilani - we'd probably need both with Aquilani injury record.
  16. Even though it's been inevitable for quite some time it's still gutting to see him leave. He's been a great servant to the club so I wish him all the best and just hope we can get a good replacement in.
  17. Great football man, sad to see him depart.
  18. According to this article he's only played 27 Serie A games in 3 seasons. http://goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/200...-leave-roma-for Not another Aurélio is he?
  19. Has anyone seen much of Aquilani? From what I've read about him he's only made 100 or so appearances for Roma in 7 years.
  20. This content is not viewable to guests.
  21. Don't forget Sam Allardyce - I'll take Prozone, it has all the stats to illustrate what a fantastic England manager I would make (if it wasn't for the pesky foreigners)
  22. Owen has always looked after number 1, no surprise at all he's gone there given the opportunity. personally, I've never been a big fan of the man and considering he's nowhere near the player he once was, I couldn't care less.
  23. Niall Quinn, Mother Theresa - don't think so. I don't think he's said anything bad about anyone, ever! I'm pretty sure Tony Cascarino is the one sticking the boot in to Dave there and rightly so.
  24. Tribalfootball reporting that according to The Times, Johnson had a medical at Liverpool last night.
  25. He has improved since leaving Chelsea but playing regularly certainly helped. From what I seen of him, he still seems to possess the same weaknesses. Time will tell I suppose
