  1. the return of the Danny... and I think Pennant could be a good move
  2. Agger had a shot from his own half that landed on the roof of the net with the opposition's keeper clapping him
  3. Agger wins a pen for Denmark and takes it himself, very cool roll into the corner sending keeper the wrong way. 2-0.
  4. Interview with tv.2sport in Denmark today. on Real Madrid stories: "It only proves once again to myself that there are so many journalists that write down what they want rather than trying to find the facts. I'm not hard to talk to especially to those that know what to do, they just call me and we talk about it and its not a problem. I think it's quite easy. on Skrtel injury: "That situation doesn't really matter so much, that is, I don't know how serious his injury is, I'm just going to keep working in the same way and hope I get my chance eventually. on the atmosphere in the squad: "It's going fine, there are no problems. Of course I'm working hard to show what I can, because I know I can.... the atmosphere is great, 2 wins in the CL, top of the Premier League and still in the Carling Cup... etc etc" http://sporten.tv2.dk/fodbold/article.php/id-16439129.html
  5. Do not mess with Agger's voodoo doll. Hope he comes back REALLY strong now.
  6. lovely vid, great player. i always wonder about him when the rooney hype gets going, beardsley a better player for me
  7. Someone tell Per Nielsen to get on the phone to Danny and tell him to chill out... I'm certain this'll blow over, don't think there's any sign of him leaving if he doesn't play by December. No need for the name calling though, he hasn't called out any players or the club, he's just a hard nosed confident lad who wants desperately to play every week. Good enough too... just got 2 others playing very well in front of him, and Rafa with a seeming shift of style not rotating much at the start of this season. All that and his bad injury = just bad luck. As for that article mentioning Agger and Mertesacker as options, can't believe I see those 2 names in the same sentance! Blimey, it's like pondering whether to buy Torres or Kevin Lisbie
  8. I didn't start this as an excuse to post up icky youtube links!
  9. Maybe not... balanced out by McManaman's fine collection of quality strikes?
  10. Just wondering what people think of the relative merits of McManaman and Giggs, hopefully purely on the ability level rather than any other considerations (hard for many I know!) I was just watching another Souness disaster on youtube, a match that features on the 'in this day in liverpool history panel', home 3-2 loss to Wimbledon... and there was McManaman popping up with a goal. Obviously McManaman and Giggs's careers panned out rather differently, Giggs is still playing, one club man etc etc, but was there really that much between them as players? Both came through into first team contention at about the same time, both wingers (initially), both regarded as the hot properties of the time. In some ways McManaman was even eclipsing Giggs statwise in the mid 90s - 25 assists in 95-96, PFA team of the year 4 seasons on the bounce... Yes, I know: white suits, bosman transfer, possible bad influence on Robbie... but like Robbie maybe just a great player at the wrong time? Nailing my colours to the mast, I honestly don't believe there was much in it abilitywise between McManaman and Giggs, and that makes it all the greater shame that we never got more out of one of the best right midfielders I've ever seen play for us. Feel free to reminisce
  11. Is this the official doom thread? Well... I reckon that's the worst result we've had under Rafa, and I include Barnsley and Burnley in that, because that was a strong team out there today, and more so, anyone, and I mean LITERALLY in the true sense of the word, anyone could have done Pepe's job today. I doubt I will see a more negative performance from a visiting team in a long time at Anfield. Havant and Waterloo had much more of a go at us. But, they got what they wanted, with minimal resources - fair play, if little respect to them. Onwards and upwards! Obviously would've been double figures if the officials had got Stevie's goal right after 2 minutes but... if any of our players uses that as an excuse I'll wring their necks!!
  12. Hehe, nice try. [check the history tab]
  13. Just had a look at that article in the shop - it says he could buy himself out if we don't offer him an extension is all. It's in Ekstra Bladet which isn't the most reliable of sources.

    Agger

I'd be surprised to see Danny start, he's just played 2 full 90s for Denmark, he looks OK but definitely quite some way from his best yet
  15. Love the way it's gone from 'What the hell, he's bringing on El Zhar??' to 'Kuyt's keeping El Zhar out of the team and Rafa's stagnating him' in about 3 weeks. Rafa has brought him into first team contention and hardly anyone (if anyone) was calling for that.
  16. Well, for sure I didn't expect much, and of course the final placing prediction is 'just for fun', I just find it laughable in terms of the fact that someone was actually paid to write that for a supposedly 'credible' media source. Surely this season's fortunes depend on more than the player in's and out's over the summer? *shrug* I'm unlikely to stay awake at night worrying abot it
  17. The level of analysis on these is laughable really. They've signed him, him and him, and sold him and him, therefore, up 2 places.
  18. Think I'd rather work with Ramos than Ince really

    Gareth Barry

It doesn't apply to EU Nationals
  21. He was at Arsenal as a youngster, correct. He is certainly a decent player at Danish league standards. As Aggermania says he is a usually (goal above aside!) not so flashy, playing as holding midfielder doing a lot of work breaking up play and handing the ball over to the likes of Retov to build up attacks.
  22. Was on the Faxe yesterday to see this - it went mental afterwards It needed something like that to break through the 10 man defensive wall... first half was so boring I was tossing up going to the bar to watch the first half of the Man City game at halftime. Definitely one of the best goals I have seen live, agreed. Kaizer: Gislason has definitely grown into his new role as captain and has been playing well. It's good to see that quite a few of the new faces (Gisla, Holmen, von Schleebrugge) seem up for the fight back up the table, are playing well and look happy at the club. It's still a paper thin squad at Brondby though with mainly youth players to fill in for injuries. Quite some rebuilding to do I think.
