It's a weird one this, and while there is undoubtedly a story (that being Agger's contract is winding down and for whatever reason it's taking time to agree a new one, other clubs are taking notice), the rest of it does seem very out of sorts for Danny Agger. Going back to his time at Brondby he's not a mercenary type whatsoever, he's not some spoiled full of himself young idiot, he has always come across as a good lad with a steady head and good family behind him, solid working class lad. He has repeatedly said that he likes the city of Liverpool, is happy to stay here until he goes home again, is comfortable with the people and the type of place it is (contrast Milan...). Of course he has to think of his pocket too, but I honestly believe he wants to stay as Tony Barrett seems to be saying.
