Today's Football 2014-15
aka Dus replied to Sir Tokyo Sexwale 's topic in General Football Discussion
A fella told me Roy Keane decked Given but that's just wish fulfillment on my part, since it would mean the end of Keane. Hopefully. -
Is this where it's that now, that all managers want to go manage in Spain too?

Moyes is technically deficient and gambled with RVP's fitness

You don't need trophies to be a winner but he is a winner. -
Daniel Sjölund Lauri Dalla Valle Third time scandilucky.

And if we keep doing that for established players we really want that fit our system we'll do ok. Lou Macari chose Man United, Charlie Nicholas went to Arsenal. There is more than one way to skin a cat but there is probably one way that's the best way.

David Conn livetweeting again today. https://twitter.com/david_conn ex Supt Michael Brookfield giving evidence, Ex Supt Brookfield says he offered to help inexperienced Ch Supt Duckenfield with 1989 semi-final; help was declined Seems Duckenfield also declined help from another experienced officer present.

I wonder will he wear a suit on the bench at Sociedad or go back to his trackie bs. -
Better he should either have all the say than "the final say". What does that mean, anyway? What happens in the process leading up to the point? Who do the scouts report in to? Where does Brendan sit when he does the thumbs up or thumbs down signal? His position is invidious now, he's being lined up in cross hairs and if this summer ruins him, he'll likely be carrying the can for others who get to remain to carry on their good work.

Heh heh, ah right. Nothing would surprise me, in fairness. -
The difference between transfer fee and wages is moot anyway. Accounting dullardry aside, it amounts to a discussion about the club paying what it takes to persuade people that London (or f***ing Manchester, don't forget) isn't such a marvellous place to live at all, when you can come to Liverpool and play for the best club in the country.

Both former Sociedad players aren't they? Don't recall either of them in any kind of coaching context. -

He'd be sacked before they go down anyway. Any word on his backroom staff? This could be funny enough to bring Smithdown back. -

Thought the Blues Brothers were making out to be Arabs in that scene, no? -
Sure we had 126 opportunities to see him up close, not sure you would have had too many people telling you he could dominate his area.

We need players to do some management on the pitch, think it's totally fair enough to get in to some key players in depth, goalie being one. EG: you'd want a CM (Stevie), one full back, one centre half with serious personalities. Maybe a centre forward too. As it is, it all feels like everyone's wet behind the ears and getting bossed around by t***s like Allardyce, Pardew and Basel.
-
Someone's gonna accuse you of doing a Macca but I tend to agree. Or I at least I empathise with the level of established player we need and how quickly it needs to happen to save our poxy arses.

Mid term report cards for the transfer policies of the rich and famous? Man U Policy: spent loads on marquee players and highly rated players. Top Players In: Di Maria 8/10, Falcao 5/10, Blind 6/10, Rojo Duno, Herrera 6/10, Shaw 4/10 Manager: 'Personality' manager. Making noises about 3 year plans and generally being un-Gaaly humble. Form: Worse than Moyesey start, work in progress cos of injuries. Top 4 maybes Fans: Entitled to grumble more than they maybe are Arsenal Policy: spent more than might have been expected for him Top Players in: Alexis Sanchez 7½/10, Wellbeck 6½/10, Calum Chambers 4/10, Manager: System manager. Blind spots keep getting blinder. Form: Will be relying on customary streak to get them top 4, will probably achieve it. Fans: Might go for him even though he's bought off the top shelf, unless he gets in a proper defender or 2, which he won't Chelsea Policy: spent what they needed to Top Players in: All hitting the right level, though defensively their squad is a bit thin. Lucky with injuries. Manager. c*** but has the strength of personality and system to win the league at a stroll. c***. Form: 10 point league win. Fans: c****. I don't care what they think of how they bought. Man City Policy: Should have sold more than they did. Top Players in: Mangala 6½/10, Fernando 5/10, Sagna, 6/10 Manager: European thing goes badly against him. Not who you'd think they would entrust spending another 100m to Form: Walking top 4 Fans: They're Champions, they can probably tolerate a s***ty season. Tottenham Policy: Who is spending the money there? Who spent it last summer. I hate them because they remind me of our shortcomings this summer. Top players in: Couldn't tell you anyone they brought in except the English lad from Sporting and the Swansea left back. Not casting covetous glances. Manager: The golden child with last season's crap squad. Probably praying Spurs get bought out and Levy leaves. Form: On the edge of being Also Rans Fans: So used to it that they are probably numb and unable to express themselves The Ev Policy: Old heads and prospects, spent their communion money Top players in: Lukaku 5/10, Eto'o 6/10, Barry 7/10 Manager: Not exactly wishing we had chosen him. Form: Will be battling us and Man U for 4th. Fans: Happy once they beat us and will canonise Martinez if he does it, so not exactly big picture people

So a trial, then.
-
Falcao putting ice on his gammy knee after every training session. Hardly going to make him permanent if that persists are they?
-
He only works with players who want to work with him. Suarez only went once.
-
Brucie at a thing in Ireland last night hanging Mignolet. Doesn't see any hope for him, would have him out ASAP.
