  1. I thought Rafa's English would be better by now than that gibberish...

  3. Finnan too surely?
  4. Now that is exactly how I feel! I loved it when Crouch made many people eat humble pie! Let's have an another cheapish and unlikely signing.
  5. I think so, but then again Sissoko is a player he already knew very well. I recently watched the UEFA Cup final between Rafa's Valencia and Marseille and I had forgotten that Sissoko came on as a sub late in the 2nd half.
  6. If the players we want to sign do not have their heart set on joining us then it's better they don't. We'll get better service if they do and they will do their bit in the transfer negotiations. I hope they will. What's the point in paying over the odds for a player who doesn't care?
  7. Wow, thanks for the trouble...
  8. I'm still waiting for him to tell us how many times he has seen Kuyt play a full game as he thinks Kuyt is not worth buying. Must have seen him frequently.
  9. Who cares if he's tired in the WC...
  10. Yes, bring in the hairnets! Or helmets...
  11. I can see a pattern here. We get knocked out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round and win the CL
  12. In all fairness to Josemi if he hadn't worn that Spanish flag on the podium he wouldn't have stood out quite so badly...
  13. For christskates, they play together in different roles, how can anyone make a proper judgement between the two under these circumstances? Pointless. Let's just say they're both world class...
  14. Starting to have doubts? Look elsewhere if the thread is tiresome

    Andy Gray

Aye, the first two goals would look a tad suspicious if there currently were match-fixing allegations in England... Martyn went down early for the first and didn't even move for the second, should have dived for the cameramen at least. (Clemence used the phrase 'diving for the cameramen' when pretending to be making an effort to save an unstoppable goal-bound shot.)
  17. Whoever the CB is, I wouldn't expect him to walk straight into the starting eleven. As for Bolton, they will be a wee bit fresher than us as they had their game postponed yesterday.
  18. Everton can't afford to sack him. He signed a contract extension (till 2009 was it ) and it'll cost a hefty sum if they do.
  19. I thought the whole defence had lead in their boots last night. They did lose uncharacteristically many headers and Finnan lost two extremely dangerous ones. And ugly Dunc wasn't even playing...
  20. Now, that must be the best pale imitation of a seventies-bleached-wannabe-afro-fur-hat I have ever seen!
  21. Owen was the main culprit for our dry spell during the 2002-3 season, he went months without a single goal. He missed clearcut chances and penalties. It was shocking. But this hack conveniently decides to ignore that.
  22. It seems that way, the baseball thingie is apparently a smalltown sport (and small towns are SMALL in Finland).
  23. I think the big three are ice-hockey, track & field and cross-country skiing (I suppose ski-jumping could be included here). Bubbling under are alpine skiing and auto racing. Football isn't doing too well at the moment with match-fixing allegations. Football also has a fierce rival in local baseball (which is the number one sports in the more rural areas I'm told). Jari Litmanen won the award in 1995 and Sami also did in 2001. This time the ECL win wasn't enough
  24. The myth regarding Sami's pace can be put to rest. He beat Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen for fourth place in the annual Finnish Sportsman of the Year awards. Kimi was fifth. The truth, however, is that Sami can't jump or dribble as he was beaten by a ski-jumper, downhill-skier and long-jumper...
