According to the ticker on the beeb, Thaksin Shinawatra says they may make an offer for Peter Crouch. Personally I hope he stays, but it depends how much we could get for him.

How long can/should they wait till they announce a replacement. England have no competitice mathces for a while. after euro2008 a lot of experienced managers could become available(van Basten, Hiddink, scolari, etc), is it worth waiting till then to get the perfect candidate?

apparanlt Platini wants to change the qulifying Criteria for the Champions league the top 3 in England, spian and Italy will qualify automatically as will the top 2 in france, Germany and Portugal. Then the champions from the countries ranked 7 to 12 will all qualify automatically. The rest of the places will be done through qualifying with 6 places going to the champions of the smaller countires and 4 places going to to the cup holders from the top 16 ranked countries. Anyway if this goes through, it would make it nearly impossible for a club like Spurs getting to the CL(unless they win the cup) a top 4 finish for them could be a possibility, but it will be near on impossible for anyone else to break into the top 3. It would also be interesting to see what would happen to one of the top 4 if they fail to make it into the CL for a season or 2.
