as an attacking player i'm not sure i agree with that i certainly wouldn't put him above gerrard, kewell, garcia, morientes, crouch, alonso, fowler, zenden or riise maybe i'm missing what you mean by 'technically better'
pongolle is no more a right midfielder than any of those you allude to if fit garcia, gerrard, cisse, kewell, finnan are all better bets than him to play there IMO
I saw him at Palace and he was feckin shocking, but you can't judge on one game alone and overall i don't see him making it with us. We have sufficient strikers better than him, he desperately needs a run of games to show if he has got what it takes at this level and he isn't going to get it at Anfield - tbh i'm not 100% he's going to get it at Blackburn. Good luck to him all the same
i was at that game and didn't think he was all that. As for Joe Cole that night - seem to recall Wilkinson had just taken over the u-21s and he didn't play Cole in the first half and he played pretty well when he came on along with Lee Hendrie in the second. What i most remember is Carra bailing out Woodgate, who was appalling, on a number of occasions.
Today, the cost of the ISS has risen to $100bn and counting. It sucks almost $2bn from Nasa's budget every year, essentially to stay mothballed in low Earth orbit. No one expects it to be finished before 2017 and, even then, it will be a mere shell of the plans on the drawing board. sufficient in itself to show you were talkng out of your a*** but as i already said - stupid feckin comparison
