If you give Geuhi mega wages then you're not selling him in 2/3 years cos either a) he's good so you want to keep him or b) he's s*** so no-one else wants him on the money he's on and unsurprsingly he won't take the pay cut I was reminded of this when i heard the name Kalvin Philiips on the radio this morning - still on the books at City for another 2 years as they cover the majority of his wages at whatever loan club he's at i think that's why Geuhi for £35mm @ £150k a week works for us but for £20mm and @£300k+ a week it doesn't

i don't think his desire has lessened but he's a touch slower and his kicking of the ball has (free kick v Qarabag aside) mainly gone to absolute s***e - it's very weird those 2 clean through chances he had on Saturday 1) - 1st half he's away, onside from in his own half, i've no idea why he doesn't drive across more centrally taking the chasing defender (Trippier, was it?) out of the game. Staying out right he could have squared it earlier but ballsed that up too 2) Second half - he kept the pace up sufficient to get the shot off before the defender (Hall was it this time?) could get there, tries to hit it with the outside of his foot and spoons it wide of the nearside post - awful finish. He deffo scores one and probably both of those in any of the last 7 seasons. It's annoying for the team but it's more sad than annoying cos it's Mo and i don't want him to bow out like this.

I’d also say - looking at the way the squad is changing/age profile of new signings then a new captain is going to be needed in 12-18months time. It’s not gonna be Salah/Robbo/Ali - so Dom looks the obvious candidate and he may well be wanting a deal commensurate with that To add - it should have been Trent but he f***ed that up
