  1. Indeed, they are just too good at the moment, they don't look like dropping points even when they are not playing well. Ronaldo has been outstanding for them again this season and he is always capable of turning draws into victories. He did it again tonight, he scored another two goals and is becoming their match winner on a regular occurrence. Even if you stop him the Mancs have other match winners in the team (Tevez/Rooney). They have the best defensive record in the league, their defence is solid and reliable. They never look like conceding a goal, in contrast with Arsenal and Chelsea who are now leaking goals at an alarming rate at such a crucial part of the season. Mix in Ferguson's countless years of experience in challenging and winning the title, they're in a very strong position despite the small points difference. Its their title, I have already accepted this. Our best bet is 3rd and no higher.
  2. It is the Mancs title, I said the same a few days ago, Grant isn't a good enough manager and Arsenal are imploding and running out of steam. We just have to accept that is going to happen. The games at the weekend are big in themselves but in the long run it is going to make no difference who finishes top come May. If results go our way we have got an unlikely chance of catching Chelsea for 3rd place. 2nd is very unlikely and 1st is close to impossible as you can get.
  3. Joe Cole scores......4-3.
  4. Huddlestone did a fantastic Ronaldo impression there! Unluckily for him he never got a penalty. Never mind, he scores, totally unmarked from a corner, man marking from set pieces never works. 3-3, cracking game!
  5. Mancs 1-0
  6. Chelsea 1-0
  7. I see the Mancs tonight have made SEVEN changes to the starting line up from the previous game. I wonder if the media will criticise Ferguson for rotating his team? Fingers crossed his selection backfires on him.

    NOOOOOOOOOO!

Was just about to say the same thing. Another case of the media not listening to what a manager is saying and then making up a headline where it has no relevance to the article itself. "....let us see where we are in three or four weeks"
  9. Why do the Mancs still go on about that Gerrard tackle against Everton? It was nearly TEN years ago for crying out loud, when he was a youngster, he had a rush of blood to the head and deserved to go. He learnt from that mistake and since then his disciplinary record has been very good. To call him a "dirty player" based on one incident from nearly TEN years ago is a little desperate.
  10. Of course its not like Manchester Utd players to dish it out to opposition players, which makes Ferguson's comments about how Ronaldo isn't get enough protection funny.

    4th place

Liverpool Everton (H) Blackburn Rovers (H) Manchester City (H) Manchester United (A) Arsenal (A) Fulham (A) Birmingham City (A) Tottenham Hotspur (A) Including 2 Champions League ties against Arsenal and possible more... Everton West Ham (H) Derby (H) Chelsea (H) Aston Villa (H) Newcastle (H) Liverpool (A) Birmingham (A) Arsenal (A) Take your pick

    4th place

Personally anyone who thinks we have a chance of winning the title are being extremely optimistic, there are too many factors against us. Also out of the 8 remaining League games we have, 5 of them are away, which means the Bitters have 5 at home. I'd much prefer to have Everton's fixtures remaining than ours.
  13. You got bummed today but you are still favourites for 4th place in my opinion.

    4th place

What a difference a few weeks make, now there are only two teams in with a shout. 4 Liverpool 30 +34 59 5 Everton 30 +22 56 Games remaining in the League.... March Manchester United (A) Everton (H) April Arsenal (A) Blackburn Rovers (H) Fulham (A) Birmingham City (A) May Manchester City (H) Tottenham Hotspur (A) I think Everton are favourites for 4th spot because we have the distraction of the Champions League QF against Arsenal and our next three games in the League itself are tough. If we can get to Blackburn at Anfield still ahead of them in the table we'll be in a very good position to take it.
  15. Wait till next week, he'll be sitting in the studio during our game against the Mancs claiming the reason why we aren't in the title race is because Rafa rotates Torres and his squad. Whether Rafa rotates or not he will always get criticised by the media.
  16. Come on his commentary on Wednesday night was so biased towards the Italians its untrue. His job as a commentator is to give us an insightful view and perspective on the game we are watching. That means telling us who is on the ball at any given time and giving a fair and impartial view of any incident that happens on the pitch. That did not happen on Wednesday. A commentators job is to be neutral, not to favour either team and not to rabble on about something that has no relevance to the game itself, Alan Green is the worst for that. Also we don't want their inflated opinions, to trot out the same old boring clichés time and time again, why can't they just stick to the facts and do some decent research before they commentate on a game. Motson is a great example of a commentator who was decent but in recent years has just towed the line with the rest of them.
  17. Fully agree, we now have a fantastic spine to our team, in the summer we need to go out and buy two TOP class players. Get rid of any squad players who aren't good enough and go out and get a winger and a full back.
  18. Wonder who the ref is going to be for the game against the Mancs next week? If its Mike Riley there is no point in turning up.
  19. After 30 games in Rafa's tenure: 04/05 47pts 05/06 58pts 06/07 54pts 07/08 59pts
  20. really? Don't know whether to see that from a positive or negative point of view.
  21. I rule Chelsea out because I don't think Grant is that good of a manager, however if Mourinho was still in charge then most definitely you couldn't rule them out. Oh about the one man team comment, you seem to have missed my point in jest.
  22. 4 consecutive draws in the League for Arsenal, despite losing one game all season, a team who has lost four games is above them! Again goes to show how a draw is just as bad as a defeat in the long run. The Mancs are now surely favourites for the title, game in hand at home to Bolton they will pull out a three point gap. Can't see them relinquishing the top spot because Arsenal are imploding and Chelsea under Grant won't win it.
  23. See the Mancs nicked a one nil win against bottom of the table Derby thanks to Ronaldo. Not that they are a one man team......and Arsenal are doing their best to implode.
  24. Well yeah, I know we did but I mean in a more effective way where we don't end up putting ourselves under a lot pressure, giving away silly free kicks, conceding possession and territory. We must learn to keep hold of the ball in the dying minutes, it demoralises the opposition because they can't put any pressure onto us. This season at Anfield numerous times we've cracked under that said pressure.
  25. Honestly thought we were looking at another Wigan there, Reading almost sneaked an equaliser. Think we need to learn how to hold onto a one goal lead going into the dying minutes. We put ourselves under so much pressure, conceding possession, silly free kicks whereas really we should be holding onto the ball. Three points and now five games that will make or break our season.
