  1. Bad defending from a free kick, well they are no better than us! We need to get our act together and work on defending set plays on the training ground because the Bitters get a lot of goals from them.
  2. Think that has been the key to our run since we lost to West Ham. Rotating players does work because Chelsea, Arsenal and the Mancs have been doing it all season. However they very rarely change their systems, which means players coming in aren't coming into an unfamiliar formation. Under Rafa this season alone we've played 4-4-2, 3-4-1-2, 4-3-1-2, 4-3-3, 4-4-1-1, 4-1-4-1. Yes it is handy to have more than one system to play to depending on the opposition but that has been our problem! Our players just end up getting confused and cannot adapt to all of these different systems.
  3. LOL I know, it is unbelievable, it just goes to show Rafa will never win over the media with his team selections. He could now name an unchanged line up for the next three games and the media would still give him stick for not giving other players in the squad a chance to play.
  4. We still can't counter attack, we had 5 against 3 there at the end and still couldn't make it count. But its three points and that is all we need at this stage of the season. Set plays need to be improved, both attacking and defensive, they could be the difference between us finishing 4th or 5th. Babel had a good game, attacked with fluency and was a threat everytime he got the ball. Man of the Match for me, Skrtel looked solid and Masch was his usual self.
  5. Two shocking decisions there by the officials. The linesman "Guessed" as to whether the ball went out for the corner or not. From that they scored, but have to say bad marking from us again on set pieces. We got to cut them out big time. Given Bolton a sniff here, disappointed with that.
  6. Torres has been very quiet today, he has just been too static. hahahaha....we finally score from a corner!! Fantastic technique and finish from Aurelio!
  7. Need a third goal to completely kill this game off, once again our corners are letting us down, not taking advantage of them. Good move there from the lads, looked like handball, Mascherano again well in!
  8. Good finish, composed, didn't lash at it, chuffed for Babel, fully deserved! Kuyt was unlucky with his shot against the post. Gerrard a little too slow there to get the shot away.
  9. Our set plays have shown a little more imagination but again our execution of them has been woeful. Wasted three corners there in the space of 2 minutes.
  10. Disgraceful decision that and the c*** goes diving again in the penalty area.
  11. Now this is what I call half time entertainment
  12. Fantastic awareness by Torres and Gerrard should have done better. Babel again! So close to scoring, great to see him taking on players, the lad deserves a goal. The run almost reminded me of John Barnes.
  13. That set piece and Sami's booking came from a terrible throw in on Bolton's right when we were in a threatening position. It immediately put our back line under pressure. Oooooo Babel again so close, defender just got his toe on it!
  14. Hope it is 4-4-2 *crosses fingers*
  15. We're playing a centre half at right back and a forward at right midfield, can anyone tell me what benefit it has for the team to play players out of position? What can Kuyt offer at right midfield that Pennant or Benayoun can't?
  16. Could be 4-2-3-1, with Kuyt playing right midfield again Carragher Skrtel Hyypia Aurelio Mascherano Alonso Kuyt Gerrard Babel Torres
  17. Carragher Skrtel Hyypia Aurelio Gerrard Alonso Mascherano Babel Kuyt Torres 4-4-2?

    4th place

Liverpool March Bolton Wanderers (A) Newcastle United (H) Reading (H) West Ham (H) Manchester United (A) Everton (H) April Arsenal (A) Blackburn Rovers (H) Fulham (A) Birmingham City (A) May Manchester City (H) Tottenham Hotspur (A) Looks like the fixtures in March are going to make or break us in the League. At least four of those fixtures are winnable but what a sequence of games we got towards the end of the month, Mancs (A), Everton (H), Arsenal (A) Ouch!

    4th place

Villa have just beaten Reading 2-1 which means we now have a three way tie for 4th place, Us, Everton and Villa. If City beat Everton tomorrow it'll make it a four way tie. 4 Liverpool 26 +24 47 5 Everton 26 +18 47 6 Aston Villa 27 +15 47 7 Portsmouth 27 +11 44 8 Manchester City 26 +5 44 We have an advantage with a much better goal difference than the rest but what worries me about this run in is the distraction of the Champions League on our League form and if Everton keep going in the UEFA Cup they also may be affected. We will be favourites for 4th place for obvious reasons but City and Villa don't have any European games to deal with midweek. Villa are looking dangerous and perhaps it is them who we got to worry about more? Also we still got to squeeze in our game in hand against West Ham at Anfield, by all means that isn't a guaranteed three points because our form at Anfield this season has been mediocre.
  22. 0-3 too easy for the Mancs, Newcastle's defending is s****. Keegan will be regretting he ever went back!
  23. This game could get a bit tasty, some rash challenges already gone in, though the Mancs look dominate and look like scoring with every attack.
  24. We need two more players in our squad of the same quality and calibre of Torres, ideally in attacking positions, perhaps another winger and forward who are potential match winners.
  25. Even without Alonso we should not be surrendering possession as easily as we have been in recent games. Yes we won today but I'm thinking about the next three league games which on paper we should win comfortably. If we continue to play like this then it is likely we will drop another three points when we shouldn't.
