  1. Commentator on Everton game: "It's a bitter, bitter taste..."
  2. Some major bottling there, probably the worst culprit was Andy Johnson, at least the other five had some guts to take one. Just goes to show that the gulf between the "big 4" and the rest of the Premier League is big. Big 4 in the Quarter Finals of the European Cup, the rest can't even get to the Quarter Final of the UEFA Cup.
  3. Aye and it gets easier...... Reading (H) Mancs (A) Everton (H) CL Quarter Final 1st leg Arsenal (A) CL Quarter Final 2nd leg That is the next six games, quite daunting, Reading game kind of spoils the sequence.
  4. Rafa a lucky manager? Ridiculous statement, so a manager who consistently beats and out thinks some of the best teams and managers in Europe is lucky? Laughable.
  5. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.........Torres! 1-0!
  6. Babel off, Benayoun on. Wise decision, Babel was walking on a tightrope.
  7. I'd take Babel off for Pennant, Inter got a dangerous free kick here, stupid foul to give away from Aurelio. Phew over the wall.
  8. Lucas and Babel are showing signs of inexperience in a big game situation, especially when the team is on the back foot. It is up to the experienced players on the field to guide them. Kuyt and Gerrard need to offer more. The Babel booking was ludicrous.
  9. HT and breathe........that was a long first 45 mins.
  10. Joke of a booking that! Absolutely ridiculous, a re-take of the free kick is a sufficient punishment but to book him is just rubbing salt into the wounds.
  11. Reina Carragher Skrtel Hyypia Aurelio Lucas Mascherano Kuyt Gerrard Babel Torres 4-2-3-1 again, can instantly go 4-5-1 when on the back foot, huge game, big test this for Lucas and Skrtel.
  12. Got to admire them, they are certainly consistent! West Ham 0-4 Chelsea Liverpool 4-0 West Ham Spurs 4-0 West Ham
  13. Mancs have scored 58 goals in the League, Tevez/Ronaldo have scored 32 of those goals between them (55.2%) Liverpool have scored 53 goals in the League, Torres/Gerrard have scored 29 of those goals between them (54.7%) ......and everyone says we rely more heavily on Torres and Gerrard for goals. Taking all games into account: Mancs have scored 83 goals in all comps, Tevez/Ronaldo have scored 45 of those goals between them (54.2%) Liverpool have scored 96 goals in all comps, Torres/Gerrard have scored 44 of those goals between them (45.8%)
  14. Mistaken identity, must be the red wine!
  15. What did you think about Benayoun and Pennant? I felt they had a chance today to stake a claim in the first eleven, to prove to us the fans that they were capable of being in a championship winning side. Felt both were mediocre and didn't really impress. Babel has now overtaken these players in the pecking order and one of them at least will be moving on in the summer.

    Takeover Thread

........his vision there was lovely, Whelan, and Rush is on the far side, is it three, it issssssss! Ian Rush again and surely now the double is about to be won!
  17. Full credit to Barnsley but it does make you wonder why they are only 19th in the Championship and flirting with relegation.
  18. He's lost the plot.
  19. Hasn't he already been warned about his future conduct this season by the FA, didn't he get a touchline ban only just a few months ago? If that is the case then I hope the FA come down on him like a ton of bricks for this outburst. Mind you it is not going to happen, the man has been bringing the game of football into disrepute for years for his comments about officials every time his team loses a game.
  20. Pennant and Benayoun have been mediocre, was hoping for something from them today to show us the fans that they can be part of a title winning squad. Neither have them have showed anything and no Pennant's goal does not count
  21. Also chants of "Dalglish" going up, good save from Harper.
  22. That 2nd goal was world class, a world class pass with a world class finish from two world class players. Fantastic goal, just got to finish the job now. We've threatened very little but it just goes to show how having these types of players in your team can make a huge difference.
  23. Our attacks at the moment are seemingly breaking down, we are just lacking that cutting edge at the moment. Pennant and Benayoun aren't really offering anything in terms of trying to get in behind them.
  24. To be honest we were just as unlucky against Barnsley, we had numerous shots cleared off the line when it seemed we were certain to score, hit the woodwork twice and their goalie had the game of his life. It happens, Pompey are through.
  25. Looks like 4-2-3-1, Lucas for Mascherano, Benayoun for Babel and Pennant for Kuyt. Reina Arbeloa Skrtel Carragher Riise Alonso Lucas Pennant Gerrard Benayoun Torres
