Any new appointee would have to be offered money - otherwise no top level manager would do it. For the owners to sack Rafa they would have to factor in paying him off and offering more money to his replacement

We may or may not finish in the top four this season. It would of course be a major setback if we don't but I don't see how long term we can sustain or expect a regular top 4 position unless the manager is properly backed financially.

Kuyt has been very poor this season. I'm not having a go because I like Dirk and he has worked his socks off but I thought in the Man U game nothing he tried seem to come off and he was not much better yesterday.

I like Tompkins because he backs up what he says with well thought out analysis. Of course its not impartial and he does not pretend it is but that does not mean it is not insightful and thought provoking.

I do find it ironic that for years Rafa's critics have rounded on his buying of squad players and not concentrating enough on using the money for top class players for the first team. When he buys a top quality right back he is slaughtered for not having a strong enough squad

That analysis (of the manager) is very difficult though while we have these two clowns owning the club. Blame is difficult to apportion if you don't fully know what goes on behind the scenes and just how far raf has been shafted. The term grotesque chaos springs to mind.

So what your are saying is that it is benitez's fault that we didn't win the league last year. That would mean you believe that we have the best team/squad in the league but the manager failed to get the best out of them. The only logical extension of that is that he should be replaced with someone who can.
