I agree losing both league and champions league has dented their self belief. I think if we'd bought a couple of new players in the summer it would have boosted things. The club hasn't shown that it wants to go again, which has affected motivation, the players are up for games against City but are missing something for when we play teams they perceive to be below them. It's very reminiscent of the Spurs season after they lost to us in Champions League final, where the mood of the club just tanked (you can see it in All or nothing Spurs). Last time we lost Champions League final we got Fabinhio in very quick and a few more players and the group reformed quick. This hasn't happened and instead we lost Mane, a core member of our success.

Wales were absolute dogs*** the whole tournament. You can't carry players at this level. And unfortunately for us this tournament has happened at least 3 years past Bale and Ramsey's peak. How has Ramsey stayed on the pitch so long I don't know

Yes I agree, the motivation is there when they are playing against their equals (city) but then they can't pass through the gears against the dross.

He was poor for the 2nd goal as well, charged out of position when he should have been holding next to Milner, ended up with Winks being allowed to run free towards our defence and passing for the goal.
