I can see why people rate him, but I can't help remembering that game at Anfield either last season or the one before when he went through one on one with Reina, fluffed it and promptly disappeared for the rest of the match.

...must be the major reason surely. People used to slag Rafa for rotating but he rarely messed with the defense, whereas this season injuries/suspensions have meant constant changes. Can't help thinking that if we could manage a few games with a settled line-up we'd see a marked reduction in the sort of errors we're suffering now.

Ball hits beachball and deflects in - that's unlucky. It happens in a game where none of the match officials know the relevant rule of the game - that' s even more unlucky. I want an explanation from Bobwright on this one!

Thought this one was quite good though... Insua is a kid. A kid who has done well enough in his short time in the Liverpool first team to earn a call-up to the Maradonas Argentina squad. Lucas is a regular in Dungas Brazil squad. Now without getting too personal, I dont think I'm alone in trusting the opinions of Rafa Benitez, Diego Maradona AND Dunga over Tony Cascarino. There's a nice analogy for Liverpool. Its a kitchen in Majorca at night. When Liverpool are winning the light is on in the kitchen, no problems. When they lose, the light goes out and here come the cockroaches. And when they win, the cockroaches scuttle back under the dishwasher. Wasn't it Bright who told us what a mistake we'd made signing Torres instead of Bent? Thing is, you can guarantee that as long as pundits like him criticise Lucas there will be no shortage of people happy to phone 606 and agree with him
