    Hillsborough

Yup, a sort of 'do you really want to open Pandora's box?' tactic.

    Hillsborough

This leaks smacks of protecting Thatcher. "It wasn't the Iron Bitch M'lud, the police told her it was the fans." Fck me, just listened to the Beeb report and this "unnamed" officer says that "[he] is deeply ashamed of being a Liverpudlian as drunken Merseyside fans caused the disaster, just as they caused the deaths in Heysal".

    The Bitters

One of these days, we're going to decide to start the match with eleven men and tonk someone.
  4. 1. Probably because he didn't cost £20m 2. The answer is: there is no answer 3. He has no competition for his place in the first team
  5. He doesn't play on the right though, regardless of what the pre-match teamsheet says. He has played perhaps 2-3 games as a right midfielder, but the majority of the time, he has been given a Gerred-like free role, roaming behind the main attacker.
  6. Nah, Polish people love London.
  7. I'd pick Skrtel ahead of Kompany because he's had to play most of the season without a proper defensively minded midfielder ahead of him, whereas Man City offer their CB's great protection.

    Coates

I said the exact same thing before the game kicked off yesterday. It's actually easier switching from right back to left back, than it is to switch from RCB to LCB. If Skrtel had started in his natural position, the first goal doesn't go it. I suppose his post is as good place as any to praise Skrtel's performance (again). He looked to be the most assured player on the pitch.
  9. Sopcast Channel - 124893 Not too sure about that, Van Persie has scored tonnes this season. Oh, you meant....
  10. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9108625/Jamie-Carragher-1-Andy-Burton-0.html
  11. The amount of corners we had yesterday (and in general), he should be close to double figures. That's not a criticism of his attacking play, rather a reflection of how poor our delivery is - 90% of the time, it's a floated ball to the middle of the area.
  12. His 'game intelligence' must be close to zero. When he has to act instinctively (his goal the other day), I reckon he can be unstoppable, but for a team who looks to control a match, dominate possession, press the opposition and carve out chance through clever, intricate play, he's useless.
  13. Gudjohnson all over again.
  14. He played the Josemi role.
  15. Which is why he shouldn't be starting in the middle either.
  16. Why? He is one of the 11 players on the pitch, so should be judged wherever he plays.
  17. Typical Aquilani; he started off well, tailed off and then got injured (same ankle, I think).
  18. Like the many fake Hodgson quotes from last year, it (sadly) doesn't sound beyond the realms of plausibility, does it?
  19. From another forum:
  20. They forgot to remove the Shankly Gates...
  21. Anton Ferdinand has been sent a bullet in the post. Obviously Piarra Powar, Barclay, Holt/Derbyshire et al will be writing articles attributing it to Chelsea's stance of defending Terry?
  22. Arsenal 0 - 1 Shrewsbury Town

    Gerrard

On Alonso: "He should still be in a red jersey now, I'm afraid Rafa got that one wrong. Xabi was devastated when he left, he didn't want to go." On which former player he'd like to play with: "(After praising Kenny) Barnes in his pomp...move Stewie [Downing] on to the right wing" On which current player he's looking forward to play with most: "Suarez obviously. I like forwards with good movement and form what I've seen, he's excellent at that"
  24. Definitely surplus to requirements now.
  25. What, a bit like Cafu being more in the Josemi mould?
