Shearer is almost on par with Michael 'c*nt' Essien in the dirtiness stakes. I honestly don't see what he brings to the Barcodes besides his elbows and kicks to opponents heads. He's a dirty c***, I would be furious if we had a player like him, or played in the way the Toon do.

Didnt take it too well in the cup game. Couldnt stop crying about it after the game. If you are going to give it out at least take it as well. Still say the way he kicked Neil Lennon then blackmailed the FA into dropping the charges make him a c***. Still, hes an England legend and a great player so hes allowed to be dirty.

Shearer dishes it out,I don't think he would deny that, but he can take it back.

Therein lies the difference between Shearer's ilk,and the majority of modern "hard men",Essien included.

the lennon incident was ugly, but shearer's a throwback footballer, he's even got the sixties footballer haircut. i can't dislike a bloke who turned down the mancs twice in order to go his own way and play for his boyhood club.

Can he take it though? Last I heard he was moaning about getting elbowed in the face in the cup and was threatening to knock the other guy out!

Exactly, then done a similar sort of elbow on David Weir just weeks later. Amazing player in his day but a cowardly s***house.

He's fecking great. Reminds me of the 60's and 70's type of player. It's  atough game and he certainly can mix it up with the best of them. I would love it if we had a CF like him.

Too right. If the referee is weak enough to be cowed by his reputation and not big enough to stand up to the usual amount of verbals the likes of Shearer, Keane and Carra give out then they shouldn't be out there.

I'm not talking about the Shearer of the 90's - of course I'd want him. The Shearer of today is useless, all he has to offer is aggression and the only reason he stays in the team is because of the influence he has at the club, not because of his football abilities.

Watch him play he unsettles the CB's and therefore creates opportunities for his team mates. He set up Solano nicely on Saturday and has helped Owen. Unfortunately he is wasted with Ameobi upfront who is absolutetly schite.

Agreed Shearer was a great striker but has always been dirty. Now he's a not so great striker who is dirty. He's a pale immitation of the footballer he used to be and his style of play is now barely a step up from c***'s like Drunken Ferguson.

Anybody who wouldn't want Shearer in their team is a fool.

Imagine Shearer and Fowler up front!!

Its nearly 2006 not 1996 ;)

I think he's suffering from a level of frustration. Arguably the Leagues' best striker for the past 12 seasons, yet only 1 medal to show for it. I think he has a few regrets & Mikey need look no further to realise he needs to get out of that place a.s.a.p. if he wants to win things.
