baja the hut Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Just the way he moves and plays.... it's uncanny
Hassony Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 don't think there are many players better than him at what he does in the premier league #worstbrazilianever
alias75 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 His performances in the big games have been immense for the last 3 years now. Hes really developing into a top player, given what hes gone through and how hes dealt with it, he deserves all the praise he gets.
David Hodgson Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Jesus wept. He did ok today and crucially he won us the penalty, but if we have to do this, start a thread for Jay Spearing who was the better of our central two today. Again.

He did ok today and crucially he won us the penalty, but if we have to do this, start a thread for Jay Spearing who was the better of our central two today. Again.Spearing was great but so was Lucas.I don't see this crusade to be all bloody right over a player playing well when we all benefit.

David Hodgson Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Spearing was great but so was Lucas.I don't see this crusade to be all bloody right over a player playing well when we all benefit. I agree, so why rush to hail a player who was one of 11 heroes, relatively speaking. He was just fine, but not worthy of singling out. No f*cking way.
Earl Hafler Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Jesus wept. He did ok today and crucially he won us the penalty, but if we have to do this, start a thread for Jay Spearing who was the better of our central two today. Again. Shhhh. Lucas has been immense.

DazzlaJ Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Jesus wept. He did ok today and crucially he won us the penalty, but if we have to do this, start a thread for Jay Spearing who was the better of our central two today. Again. If you wanted to be so naive you could have said one nearly lost us the match and the other rescued it for us.
Gunga Din Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Jesus wept. He did ok today and crucially he won us the penalty, but if we have to do this, start a thread for Jay Spearing who was the better of our central two today. Again. thought Lucas was our best player today by some distance, but the comparisons with Hamann are both over the top and premature. he is improving though, he's a better player now than he was 6 months ago, and 6 months ago he was a better player than he was 12 months ago. its encouraging seeing him develop. he has really stepped up and taken more responsibility the last few games in the absence of Gerrard as well
carrafan Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Jesus wept. He did ok today and crucially he won us the penalty, but if we have to do this, start a thread for Jay Spearing who was the better of our central two today. Again. Rubbish. Spearing was great at his duty and Lucas at his. Difference was what they did with the ball when they had it. Spearing lost possession time and again while Lucas didnt under pressure. Lucas also protected Robinson in the first half and Raul did it in the second. Spearing has maturedd a lot in the last 12 months and a lot of credit should go to him for that but he wasnt better than Lucas today. Btw, Spearing gave away the pen and Lucas won one.

No f*cking way. He was excellent today. Along with Skrtel and Pepe. They deserved to be singled out for praise today. Doesnt mean that the others were rubbish.

Epic Swindle Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I agree, so why rush to hail a player who was one of 11 heroes, relatively speaking. He was just fine, but not worthy of singling out. No f*cking way. Thought he was great today, properly great as well. Chased every second ball, never lost his composure and always looked for a simple pass under pressure. To be fair he always plays well in the big games.
Hassony Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 dude, did i start the thread about how great lucas was? are you saying i implied it? i just said he looks like didi hamann? why are you so aggressive? because he doesn't want to admit that he was wrong about Lucas from the start
Earl Hafler Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 thought Lucas was our best player today by some distance, but the comparisons with Hamann are both over the top and premature. he is improving though, he's a better player now than he was 6 months ago, and 6 months ago he was a better player than he was 12 months ago. its encouraging seeing him develop. he has really stepped up and taken more responsibility the last few games in the absence of Gerrard as well I agree with this. Didi used to hold the midfield together whilst Gerrard was off rampaging and grabbing the headlines. Lucas is playing well alongside another defensive midfielder. How would he play alongside Gerrard in a four ? Both Lucas and Spearing have been very good since Kenny arrived but we need signings in central midfield.

Doesnt mean that the others were rubbish. surprised that skrtle isn't in the top three of most people's MOTM thought he was excellent, and he was unlucky to get booked

If we're being picky (and we are being), Spearing worked the harder and closed people down better.
