I can tell you this for nothing - there is absolutely nowt within walking distance of the ground. Our office is just across the way from the ground and there is feck all within about a 2 mile radius apart from a retail park with a drive in KFC which is shut on H&S grounds half the time.

You may struggle to get a drink in the city centre, my bro in law lives there and a number of the pubs have security on the door asking for proof you are a local.

they did that last time we went there a couple of seasons ago and a load of us got away with london underground oyster cards as proof that we were locals. ridiculous.

Get there early too, last time there were about 3 turnstiles for our fans and we had loads of problems exp when they closed one of the turnstiles

Me and Sutty had to protect a pregnant Claire as the police horses were pushing against us

It was awful

They don't ask for id at the pub by the station, I don't think.

And then you can get the bus or a cab to the ground.

Correct.

There is a decent sized Pitcher & Piano near the station. Then get a cab.

Plus your 'heavily mellowed after years in the schmoke' accent fooled them.

The pub by the Station is for away fans plus they run a park and ride bus service to Madjeski. For a few hours on the piss prior, Maidenhead is actually a decent shout, 15 minutes by train.
