I don't think our problem the past two seasons has been a matter of losing games, it's the inability to win them.

I'm looking at the draws at home this season to Stoke, West Ham, Fulham, City, Everton and Hull, and only the matches against Stoke (one of those days), City (we were pretty good playing as a team and committing players forward) and Hull (we came out at them after we equalised) I thought we did about as much as we could on the day under the circumstances. The other three games we were unimaginative and very ordinary, it looked like we weren't ready to risk the point in order to gain three.

If you were to convert one of the three draws into a loss, but another into a win, you'd have four points instead of three.

i wouldn't blame 'the draws', it doesn't take into account the different ways we have contrived to draw this season that have been the problem. 0-0's i've got no massive problem with, every title challenging team has to expect a few games where we don't manage to break teams down, especially with our limited bench.

the major issue for me is the score draws, where have these come from? everton, wigan, hull, man city, these are the real bad ones.

hull was poor because once we'd been kicked into life the players ran out of ideas totally, and eventually lost faith in each other, stopped passing and just had pot shots. if we'd had a crouch/heskey option we would have won imo (same for WHU at home).

Everton we were panicking for the last 15, partly to do with the crowd, partly because of the lack of pace/brains up front, carra went missing, benayoun dived in, we concede the most damaging goal of the season.

Wigan, same thing almost, the back 4 panicked like you wouldn't believe for that goal, and Lucas (who has always got a big mistake in him), tries to stop him at all costs. No need.

City, don't know really, i wasn't there so wouldn't like to comment too much, but the goal is another soft one.

I think our home form is good, (2nd best in the League) what makes it look bad is the ultra-consistency the Mancs have had at Old Trafford. A few days ago I posted a stat about the Mancs home form from the beginning of last season.........

Played 32 Won 29 Drawn 2 Lost 1

Take into account that they hadn't conceded a goal in something like 14 games and had won 12 on the bounce, how can any team live with that type of form?

Rather weird logic if I may say. So do you expect to go through the season without conceding at home?

For me we have shown we have what it takes if the shackles are removed. I can't help but think we would not have smashed Ncastle as impressively if Rafa had been on the bench. Won yes but not expressly as we did. We need to adapt the same relative freedom at home to convert all these draws.

We can start by beating them again!

the league is over but we may aswell get over it and focus on pushing them as much as we can at least. Bring home our hat trick in Rome also and I'd be pretty happy.

I'd say our home form isn't up to it for a title win, it's only that such as Arsenal and Chelsea are also having such poor years at home that gives cold comfort to some. Generally speaking the sides that go to the wire win at least 2/3 of their home games, something we managed to do for 04-05, 05-06 and 06-07 when it was our mid table away form that was really holding us up. Truth is our home form for the last two seasons has really dropped off whist at the same time our away form has picked up to title winning levels. Maybe it's because more teams know that the easiest way to play us and get a point is to park the Bruce bus and we're better when the other side have to come out and we can play on the counter.

Just because the rest of the league bar United have been woeful at home, doesnt make our record good.

The simple fact is, the mancs home form is basically what is required of champions.
