what could possible new owners do that is worse than destablise the playing staff, almost sack the manager a number of times, lump huge amounts of debt on the club, not provide adequate investment and cancel the new stadium?

January should be a time spent on concluding transfer signings, not having to look into the distance for new owners to save us from the present ones.

But what if, when the new owners come in, they want to show their intentions with a marquee signing? Bit late in March.

If the time is right for the deal, the time is right.

Also, no transfers are going to be completed (not, it should be stressed, that any are being mooted) while the issue of ownership is headline news, so it could be argued that January is very much the time to sell the club - especially if it can be done before the transfer window shuts.

Are you saying that the club will be sold by next weekend? Kaka to make his debut against Chelsea?

Feck that - get him and Messi in this afternoon. We've got a cup game on Sunday. Any decent speed reader could get due diligence done by 3 this afternoon

Not sure about signing Messi, will he work as hard as Kuyt on that right wing?

Probably not, but he'd be OK coming off the bench with 20 minutes to go

I think with a fortune of £9 billion, as opposed to being up to your neck in a £350 million debt, might negate any such concerns?
